The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder intend to boycott their Game 5 matchup this evening, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The decision comes on the heels of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to boycott their own Wednesday game.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers have additionally chosen to sit out after discussing the idea.
All told, all six of the teams scheduled to play on Wednesday have bought in to the movement, the Magic having elected to reject Milwaukee’s forfeit following their decision to lead the charge.
The NBA has officially acknowledged the boycott and will reschedule the matchups.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the players themselves will meet tonight to discuss what comes next.
More to come.
