Elton Brand has announced his retirement from the NBA—and he means it this time.
Brand, 37, says it’s time to walk away from the game for good.

The Philadelphia Sixers inked the 17-year veteran to one-season deal last month, but he’s done hooping.
Per Philly.com:
“It was a wonderful journey,” Brand said. “I want to thank all of the organizations I have been a part of – the Chicago Bulls, the Clippers, the Sixers of course have been really great to me. Dallas, and the Sixers again and the Hawks.”
Chicago made Brand the first pick overall in the 1999 NBA draft. The 6-foot-8, 265-pounder played with Atlanta for two seasons before rejoining the Sixers in Jan. 4. Brand previously played four seasons for the Sixers before he was waived on July 12, 2012.
He has averaged 15.9 points and 8.5 rebounds during his career. Also, Brand was regarded as one of the best locker room guys in the league. […] “It’s been an honor and a privilege to play this game that I love,” Brand said. “I’m certainly going to miss it.”
