With the NBA All Star Weekend only hours away, brands are just putting the final touches on their events in Toronto. Mitchell & Ness, the iconic retro jersey company, looks to drop some new heat to warm up the north.
While most companies may have been looking to start their set up, Mitchell & Ness kicked off their All-Star Weekend stay Tuesday with a preview event for their Black and Gold collection.
The full line, which had had a few of the caps and toques available online at the M&N store, includes t-shirts, hoodies, a baseball jersey-styled shirt as well as a varsity style jacket and a few new caps and toques.
All the items were outfitted in the primarily black with accenting gold and tremendous detail synonymous with the brand. There seems to be an ode to Toronto native Drake and the OVO crew with the color scheme.
The Tuesday preview included food and drinks as well as music provided by the Raptors’ own DJs 4Corners. The evening was punctuated by none other than Pusha T, who got up on the small stage in the small but tightly packed venue and went through a mix of new and older tunes from his extensive catalogue.
As a long-time brand ambassador of retro jerseys, Pusha T performing at the Mitchell & Ness event couldn’t have been cast any better than this.
Mitchell & Ness has pop-up locations at the Champs on Yonge St. right in the heart of the downtown core as well as at Get Fresh Company on Queen St. West. The pop-up at Champs will run from 2-8 p.m. until All-Star Saturday. Get Fresh will be running from 12-9 p.m. until All Star Sunday and will be a complete take over of the shop until the end of the week and will have live DJ to set the mood right. If you happen to be at the Air Canada Centre for the events, they will be in house to supply your needs too.
M&N had mentioned that there will be an in-store autograph signing session on both Friday and Saturday but the details are still vague at this point. The who and where will be determined shortly, so for you autograph hounds and selfie-seekers, Mitchell & Ness will get you a chance to get up-close and personal with a celebrity when your in your Black and Gold.
