Luc Mbah a Moute is headed back onto the free agency market—the Sacramento Kings announced Thursday that they’ve voided the forward’s one-year deal after he failed to pass a team-issued physical.
The Kings had even begun to promote Mbah a Moute’s defensive chops, but the short-lived relationship is now over.
Mbah a Moute, 28, averaged 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 67 games with the Philadelphia Sixers last season.
Per the Sac Bee:
Luc Mbah a Moute joked on Monday he hoped his second stint with the Kings lasted more than a “couple weeks,” but did not have this in mind.
Mbah a Moute had been signed to add a defensive presence on the perimeter for the Kings.
Mbah a Moute’s first stint with the Kings was also brief. He was acquired in a trade before the 2013-14 season but was traded to Minnesota for Derrick Williams after playing in nine games.
