2014 NBA All-Star Game Tickets 49% Less Expensive Than Last Season

In Adam Silver’s first All-Star game as the Commissioner, NBA All-Star Game tickets will be at a much lower price than the ones at the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. For this game at New Orleans Arena, you can get into the stadium for $436, a sizeable difference from the minimum price of $574 at the Toyota Center last season. In addition, the average price of $1,326 for this All-Star Game is about half of the one in 2013 ($2,620).

Regardless of how the game stacks up against recent All-Star Games, the NBA All-Star Game is the biggest event on the post-Super Bowl February sports calendar. In comparison, the Daytona 500 is also in February and is the biggest NASCAR race of the year, but Daytona 500 tickets are only a third of the price of NBA All-Star Game tickets.

Interestingly, the All-Star Game at the Amway Center in 2012 had comparable prices to this year’s one in Louisiana. The get-in price for that contest at the Orlando Magic’s stadium was just $13 fewer than similar tickets in 2014. In addition, the average price for the 2014 All-Star Game is just 5 percent above the one in 2012 ($1,146).

Not only will you be seeing the best basketball players in the world, but you will also be seeing two of the greatest current coaches in the League today. Pacers coach Frank Vogel, who will be leading the Eastern Conference in the Pelicans’ arena on February 16, has brought Indiana to the Playoffs in each of his seasons with team.

If Vogel gets Indiana to the Finals for the first time as a franchise since 2000, then he might be seeing Scott Brooks on the other bench. But they first will meet as opposing head coaches in the All-Star Game. Brooks, who has coached the Western Conference in the All-Star Game two of the last three years, is in his sixth season as the coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
