Delonte West Lands in the D-League

Great news: Delonte West is playing professional basketball once again, and we’re all winners for it. West signed on with the Dallas Mavericks’ D-League squad, the Texas Legends. Per the Dallas Morning News: “West averaged 9.5 pts, 2.3 reb, and 3.1 last last season for the Mavericks. He signed a one-year contract with Dallas prior to this season, but was suspended twice for ‘detrimental conduct’ during training camp and ultimately released by the team. His presence on the Donnie Nelson-owned Legends roster will fuel conjecture about a possible return to the Mavericks. After West was released, owner Mark Cuban said he is more reluctant to give second chances, given what happened with Lamar Odom last season. The Mavericks currently don’t have an open roster spot. However, the second 10-day contract of 37-year-old backup point guard Mike James is set to expire on Sunday. At that time, the Mavs have to decide whether to sign him for the rest of the season, or release him.”
