Photos: Introducing Nike+ Basketball

On Day 2 of the Nike Innovation Summit, CEO Mark Parker introduced the new, revolutionary hoops experience coming to a sneaker near you—Nike+ technology for basketball. What does it mean? Imagine playing a game of basketball, then being able to whip out your iPhone and check how much energy you expended, how far you ran, how quick you were, and most importantly, your highest vertical jump. And then being able to post your vertical leap to Facebook or Twitter, proving once and for all who has the most hops. The new Nike Lunar Hyperdunk, which LeBron and others will rock in this summer’s London Olympics, uses Nike+ Pressure Sensors in the sole to track metrics never before available to basketball players. In the future, more basketball models will feature the same technology.

Today, Parker and the rest of the Nike team unveiled this technology, along with Nike+ training and across all sports platforms, with the help of Nike athletes Alyson Felix, Victor Cruz and Manny Pacquiao. According to officials, all styles of the NIKE+ enabled footwear will be available and at retail June 29.
