Ron Artest’s people says that today is, at long last, the day that Artest officially becomes “Metta World Peace”. From the LA Times: “His publicist, Courtney Barnes, told The Times that Artest plans to attend Friday’s hearing at L.A. Superior Court, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Artest had an Aug. 26 hearing postponed because of two traffic tickets, but Barnes said that shouldn’t be an issue. ‘It’s all resolved,’ he said.”
UPDATE: According to the NY Daily News, it’s official. The back of the forward’s Lakers jersey will now say “World Peace.”
