The Brits are unable to come up with the insurance policy for Ben Gordon, making it unlikely that he will suit up for them this summer. From the BBC: “British Basketball’s performance director Chris Spice said it was ‘looking unlikely’ the Detroit Pistons player would be available. The lockout began on 1 July with owners calling for an overhaul in the NBA’s pay structure. This created insurance issues and GB can not afford the same level of cover. Spice said: ‘It is difficult and it is complex and if I was a betting man I don’t think it is going to happen unfortunately. We’ll know on Monday but it is looking unlikely. In the end we have not been able to afford the same level of cover he would get in a normal year in an NBA deal.'”
