Everyone knows that virtually half the League is after the Suns’ Amare Stoudemire. Among those suitors, are the Chicago Bulls. And to date, they’ve been the most upfront about how much they’d like to see STAT in Chicago black and red.
The Daily Herald caught up with a couple of Amare’s would-be teammates in the CHI:
Count Derrick Rose among those enthused by the possibility of Phoenix Suns power forward Amare Stoudemire joining the Bulls.
“Of course, anybody would want him,” Rose said following Monday’s practice at the Berto Center. “He could go anywhere, but if he comes here, we’ll love him. Great player, great teammate, plays hard, a force on the inside. So he’d be a good fit.”
“I tried a long time ago not to get excited about things like that, because you never know how much truth there is to it,” guard Kirk Hinrich said. “He’s a special player. He’s been an all-star in this league. He’s one of the best power players in this league.”
One encouraging sign for fans of the Bulls is the Suns’ apparent interest in Tyrus Thomas.
A couple of weeks ago, the Bulls’ season was appropriately deemed a “disaster”. That stinging word came from their chairman. A move of this magnitude, I suspect, would brighten up Mr. Reinsdorf’s spirits – to say nothing of his players’.
