Gilbert Seriously Thought About Becoming a Warrior Again

by Marcel Mutoni

The Washington Wizards threw a lot of money at Gilbert Arenas this past summer. $111 million to be exact. This being Gilbert, though, the deal did not get finalized without a little bit of drama.

According to Agent Zero, had the Wiz offered him a little bit less, he might have returned to the team that originally drafted him.

From the San Fran Chronicle:

Arenas, who says he talked with Warriors team president Robert Rowell about the possible deal, hasn’t played since re-signing with the Wizards for six years at $111 million this past summer after undergoing another operation on his left knee.

“I was close to going back,” Arenas said. “If (the Wizards) would have flinched any, I would have gone back to Golden State…My injury, they felt like they didn’t have to throw any money at me because there was nobody there. And then they found out (Baron Davis) opted out and realized (the Warriors) were still looking at me.”

As the old saying goes, honesty is the best policy. This will surely go over well in Washington.

I was a fan of Agent Zero for a while, but he needs to shut the hell up while he’s not playing
    and FIRST

  • TADOne Posted: Nov.26 at 12:13 pm
What was wrong with what he said?

  • Keith Posted: Nov.26 at 12:14 pm
Well done Gil. Kick a franchise when it’s down. Still, I’ve got love for him.
It’s like if your girl was a poledancer. She lokos at other men all the time but it’s you she comes home to.

  • Keith Posted: Nov.26 at 12:15 pm
I’m quite pleased with my analogy. Feel free to aplpaud me for it.

  • riggs Posted: Nov.26 at 12:18 pm
what about all the BS about him and caron and antawn?

  • Co Co Posted: Nov.26 at 12:24 pm
The Wizards are probably wishing he was the Warriors problem right about now.

  • Myles Brown Posted: Nov.26 at 12:24 pm
I find it hard to believe that Gilbert seriously thinks about anything.

  • Jeter Posted: Nov.26 at 12:29 pm
    Yawn.

  • B. Long Posted: Nov.26 at 12:31 pm
Gilbert could’ve formed a mo-ped gang with Monta Ellis during all their free time and then blogged about their adventures. Who wouldn’t want to see that?

  • Roy Posted: Nov.26 at 12:33 pm
What else is new with Gil… :D

  • Moose Posted: Nov.26 at 12:44 pm
    Meh.

  • talya Posted: Nov.26 at 1:01 pm
gilbert needs to shut up. he is tryning to stay relevant in the basketball world. how bout getting his ass back on the court b/c the wizards need him. 111 million dollars should make him want to prove his worth. and the dmv treats him like hes on LBJ, Kobe, Dwade level he better start appreciating DC and play.

  • Quail Posted: Nov.26 at 1:02 pm
    he should retire.

  • Exile Posted: Nov.26 at 1:08 pm
Is he even that good anymore? A knee can ground a quick guard pretty fast. Time will tell if his entertainment value rests solely on his Blog.

  • what Posted: Nov.26 at 4:27 pm
What do you mean “go over well in Washington”? From what he’s saying Washington knew about his plans to possibly bolt and that’s why they upped the ante. I doubt that saying this publicly is gonna affect his relationship with the team much at all.

when the hell is gilbert playing again? i honestly believe hibachi is 2 damn streaky 2 have been given that contract. he hasnt proved 2 me that he can win enough games in the playoffs. he’s great in the regular season hittin game winners and watnot but when is the last time he showed up 4 a playoff win. Lebron has owned the wizards the past seasons

  • sush carter Posted: Nov.26 at 4:47 pm
this retard acts like the warriors would want him back. i used to like gil, but dude talks way too much and thinks way too highly of himself…when was the last time he won anything meaningful? I’m sure the warriors would have been all over paying $100mil to a shoot first point guard whose been hurt for the past 3 years…scrub

  • Ulee Posted: Nov.26 at 6:35 pm
I think Gilbert and Jermaine O’Neal are having a contest to see who can get hurt and miss the most games.

  • Simon S.Y Lawy Posted: Nov.26 at 8:40 pm
    who cares, he sux anyway…

  • Tracey... Posted: Nov.26 at 9:28 pm
Everybody is bagging on this guy.. I can see if he said something during the negotiations… but he is already signed back with the wizards.. granted he could have kept it to himself… he’s being honest… but he’s showing he’s a business man.. and he is the commodity

  • JE Posted: Nov.26 at 9:42 pm
I used to love Gil, because he used to strike me as an underdog that was continuously climbing higher than anyone thought he could by playing his ass off every night. Now, I just wish he’d shut the fvck up.

  • jose Posted: Nov.26 at 11:00 pm
yea agent 0 is gon end up being a plain zero if he dont shut up.wtf is up wit him

  • KobeWearsAPurpleThong Posted: Nov.26 at 11:37 pm
Hey uh Agent Queero, you sure look like you’re moving around pretty good in those Adidas commercials…?

  • Nashty Posted: Nov.27 at 12:01 am
I am a fan of Areas, and I don’t think what he said was all that shocking. When the hell is Gil due back anyway?

  • Quail Posted: Nov.27 at 12:08 am
@ Simon S.Y Lawy: no he doesnt suck, he is very very good… when he’s healthy. u cant say someone sucks at a sport when they can beat u at it. i dont like him either, but have some common sense.

  • I am the walrus Posted: Nov.27 at 5:16 am
Arenas should just play or he’ll never see money like that again.

  • Son of Shawn Posted: Nov.27 at 7:21 am
Wow!!, That would be a great (even awesome) backcourt for this season: Monta Ellis an Gilbert Arenas, IF they could play three games together they´ll be a must see thing

  • Son of Shawn Posted: Nov.27 at 7:22 am
    they´d, not they´ll

  • sherman Posted: Nov.28 at 6:34 am
.,,.Agent Zero is a versatile player but its okay for him to live that team because He did not contribute some stats because he is always injured

  • BALLWELL BALLERS Posted: Nov.28 at 7:02 am
