SLAMonline Top 50: Chauncey Billups, no. 25

The definitive ranking of the best players in the NBA today…

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. CHAUNCEY BILLUPS

Dear Chauncey,

We write this brief note to you in the direst of straits. We didn’t know where else to turn so we decided to use this platform to present our message. Please heed these words, we write to you today. Thank you for your consideration.

Chauncey, you were largely introduced to most of the basketball world when you were the third pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, but we already knew all about you. For the decade prior, your name was already legendary around the city of Denver, Colorado. Like other basketball prodigies before you, we heard the stories about Bob Knight and his contemporaries showing up at your junior high practices. We heard the stories of you killing much older kids at the Hiawatha Davis Rec Center up in Park Hill. We heard and believed that you were the next “big thing,” and we were so proud.

You are our state’s greatest prep player, taking home three consecutive Mr. Colorado crowns and two state titles while at George Washington High. Even after you lived up to all of the “mountainous” expectations, you bucked the popular thought when you graced our little collegiate hoops program up in Boulder with your presence for a couple years; even leading them to their first NCAA tourney bid in 28 years.

Hell, even our historically abysmal professional team was able to somehow procure your services for a year and a half, but like many decisions before, (and after) the Nuggets decided to ship you off in a multi-player deal to Orlando because you were injured and hadn’t quite figured out your place in the League. And now, after all of this time, you blossomed into one of the truly great leaders in the NBA.

You give consistency in a league of erratic behavior. You are the steadiest of steady. You have literally scored 16 points and dished out 7 assists every night since you arrived in Motown some six years ago. You have led the Pistons to an NBA title (where you were named the Finals MVP), five Eastern Conference Championship series, all while finding a home for you and your family in Detroit.

But Mr. Big Shot, this is your home and we need a point guard here, badly. It appears our current diminutive guard might be available for a trade and the rumor we hear is that the Pistons are interested. Talk to Joe D. and get back to us.

Come back, we miss you.

With Love,

The State of Colorado

Never knew he was the third pick. Interesting letter, but Pistons will need to throw in a lot of pieces to get AI.

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:07 am
“taking home three consecutive Mr. Colorado crowns” I never knew Chauncey was a bodybuilder.

  • Clockwork Posted: Sep.29 at 8:09 am
Always loved his game, but I feel his stock has considerably fallen after the conference finals against Cleveland…to the point where I don’t know if we can call him Mr. Big Shot anymore. When’s the last time he one? like 3 years ago?

  • Clockwork Posted: Sep.29 at 8:09 am
    he HIT one that is.

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:09 am
I like the guy not too selfish and not-too-passive. He was/is a perfect fit for D-troit’s system, but only a single ring to show for it.

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:12 am
Well, clockwork the slow and agonizingly painful fall from grace has to start somewhere just ask Shaq and Stephon (though I doubt Steph ever had grace and if he did he must have lost it at about the same time he had his first visit from the tooth fairy)

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:13 am
one ring is still one more than, A.I, Marbury, Franchise (and some other famous shoe-salesmen) combined….

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:13 am
If this was 2 years ago, he would’ve been top 15…

  • jay Posted: Sep.29 at 8:18 am
MVP of the finals. underrated. trade him to dallas, l.a. or orlando and get ready for rings.

  • starbury&stevey Posted: Sep.29 at 8:19 am
in the same rankin 2 years ago he was at no.28

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:22 am
    interesting filarako…

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:23 am
Lots of Greek/Romanian names lately. I dont have a problem, but they seem to be sprouting out of the ground now. Like the Aussies. :)

  • Bruno Posted: Sep.29 at 8:24 am
pretty nice ranking, as i have him at the same spot on mine!
    :)
    “Dear Chauncey…” was awesome…
    hehehehehe

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:24 am
Panagiotis Vasilopoulos do you have to show off with your gigantic greek-looking name. Why don’t you call yourself something that tired, ignorant people like me can read?

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:25 am
Yeh, just noticed that S&S. But that list had Darko on it among others.

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:27 am
Why don’t you call yourself Monkey King (i hope that’s not offensive to you) or Q-Tip, ohh wait those are already taken, try Johnny Reptillian or something normal like that.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:27 am
To me, Chauncey looks like he could be a guy who, because of his style of play could play until his late 30’s as a starter, and afterwards still contribute until hes over 40. He’d be a great pick up for any team once he loses his big minutes status.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 8:28 am
It was actually six straight ECF’s for the Pistons, Cub. But I digress. This will be my only comment on here since there are sure to be grumblings about his spot on the list all day long. The most difficult position on any team to play is the point guard position (word to Scoop Jackson). He is among the top-10 in the league in free throw percentage, assist-to-turnover ratio, and top 10 among guards in the league in 3 pointers, assists, and FG’s made. He is among the top defensive guards in the league as well. He is also very strong and can post up and back down and guard in the paint. Obviously, I have no problem with this ranking, but I am biased and i’m sure that will be pointed out. Have fun arguing fellas.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:30 am
    word TAD

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.29 at 8:30 am
Before i cop a torrent of abuse from the Greek community; αντίο και τρώνε τα βυζιά μου (please let that not be immensely offensive)

  • Bruno Posted: Sep.29 at 8:31 am
    just for saying…
if that trade happens, both teams would be worst than today, BUT, Detroit needs AI’s heart ASAP.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:32 am
Can everyone please just read TAD’s post and not say he is overrated? Even here, I think he should be late teens to very early 20’s. Also, Check my blog! Check my blog! (click my name).

  • starbury&stevey Posted: Sep.29 at 8:34 am
@HurstY I think IS the same person with different names…
im greek too, maybe the older greek on this site
sosta Panagioti??vres ena stathero onoma re file..

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:35 am
Um, MyKal? That was pretty stupid mate. But ok.

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:36 am
@MyKAL…:”GOODBUE, AND EATING MY TITS” this is what you wrote(not exactly offensive)

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:37 am
s&s, im greek too, how old are you?

  • starbury&stevey Posted: Sep.29 at 8:37 am
@Hursty -plus they are too proud cauze j-chill came to greece, and they start to follow basketball seriusly(we were/are a soccer-first land, but things are gonna change now)

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:38 am
    whatup Hurst?
Mykal: you may be aussie, but don’t pay out the Greeks mate, or i will label you a putana

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:39 am
You are correct Starbury.. (it is Antonis Fotsis, Nikos Zisis, Giannis Bourousis and in the future will be Andy Mutu, Muresan, Xatzivretas and up until we honor all the great european players of that era..)

  • starbury&stevey Posted: Sep.29 at 8:40 am
@ money bill with older i mean not age(16),but how long i read slamonline..
@My Kal ..do you know wtf you wrote men??

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:42 am
usually you use one name to be recognizable-famous to certain community. Well that’s not my intention-ambition….

  • starbury&stevey Posted: Sep.29 at 8:42 am
    MyKal dont mess with greeks…

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 8:48 am
My comments may steer away from the actual post topic, but this is ridiculous. At least I keep it basketball/sports related. I don’t know how many days in a row this has become a “which australian can throw down the better greek insult” discussion. Or the kids arguing over cereal and how “chilling” they are. GROW UP!! Or find a different place to discuss this garbage.. it’s getting on my nerves.

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:49 am
@starbury&stevey…:there are is a small chance that there is somebody older than me posting in this Forum.
There is an even smaller somebody reading SLAM longer though….i began with issue 2 (KEMP from the 89′ slam dunk contest)and i used to have all of them in perfect condition …

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:51 am
Dont fu*k with the Russians. Rule no.1
Money, you missed the best pick up game of 5 on 5 about 15 minutes after you left. Sooo good. Really high quality, best run I’ve been apart of in a few months. Sorry I didnt call you mate.

  • Simone S.Y Lawy Posted: Sep.29 at 8:51 am
Panagiotis Vasilopoulos are you the same guy who names Antonis before???

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:51 am
and since we are at the issue all of you got no idea what kind of a revolution was slam back in the day…

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 8:52 am
Cub, propose some trades. I don’t see this happening. Aren’t Rip and Bills BFF? Heck, I even see them announcing their retirements together.

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:53 am
    Antonis Fotsis, Nikos Zisis,Giannis Bourousis…

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:53 am
so anyway, i was eating cornflakes the other day while i was chilling on my couch watching my big fat greek wedding and not talking about basketball

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 8:56 am
There’s about 7 guys below him I’d take before Mr. Horseface, including 2 of his teammates. HE IS NOT THE PISTONS BEST PLAYER ANYMORE, hence his rank is WAY TOO HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turrible.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:56 am
Godamm Hursty, those blokes we played weren’t high quality and dragged me down to their level. Wish i could’ve run in that game you talking about!

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 8:57 am
lol Money. One problem, I know you dont eat cornflakes. You have creatine(sp?lol). Besides real aussies have wheatbix.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:57 am
Probably true eboy, but TAD proposed a pretty good arguement stating why he should be here

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 8:58 am
    @money…:you bad boy…!!!!

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 8:59 am
milo mate, and i have an IV that pumps a coctail of diuretics and dianabol straight into my arm. I put the team nomination form in tonight

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 9:01 am
Money, TAD is extremely protective of Chanuncey because he is built like and longs to be the white Chauncey. Take his comment with a grain of salt. :)

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:05 am
lol man you just made my night

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 9:10 am
Eboy is starting to sound like Jukai. Very interesting. Tell me good sir, what 7 players would you take over him?

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 9:10 am
and to honor fluxland and the interesting discussion we had on running and doping two days ago i give my bball comment on C.Billups and go to continue with my Mandarin for a while…(no more irrelevant postings for now)
    So…
Billups is still one of the top -5 points in the world (NBA included) along with Deron, CP, Nash and JOSE (in that order). A very smart player with a nice shooting stroke ,the most important element to the second best team of the last 6 years.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:12 am
You know those 3 guys who sat near us? Yeh, them, myself and 3 girls who play u18 nsw team and 3 other rep guys from state league played full court for about an hour. My feet still hurt like a bi*ch, but man it was soo worth it. 4 of these other blokes turned up as well (who were good role type players) to have subs.
    Prince=better than Chauncey Eboy? Really?

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:14 am
you forgot Pat Mills ( waits for wave of hate )

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:16 am
apparently my shot looks like a prince marion hybrid - i’m disgusted with myself

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:17 am
    SKO Beef!

  • Joel O's Posted: Sep.29 at 9:19 am
I think Chauncey still has it. But “it” is buried under the past few seasons of the Pistons’ collective overconfidence. Where was Mr Big Shot against Lebron’s one-man army?

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:20 am
Dude. Its true. Have someone film it and then watch them lmao. I shoot like Eddie House though, except when Im coming off screens.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:22 am
    malcolm in middle?

  • Nguni Posted: Sep.29 at 9:23 am
mr former big shot is not better than Hamilton. The write up was on point though.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:23 am
I think it may have been coming from your legs though, you were all jerky and ’stiff’ no fluidity in the movement. If you hadnt done a leg work out, then it would have been smoother. Maybe :)
@Joel O’s- He did hit those free-throws. And a 3 with one minute left in the 4th in one game. But it was 2 years ago, I dont remember that well.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:24 am
it can’t be true, in my mind i stroke them more aesthetically than Ray Allen

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:27 am
Key words being ‘in my mind’. Nice job with the submission of entry as well. Boston Legal is hella funny.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:34 am
but i bench press like Franco Columbo ( -60kg)

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 9:35 am
TAD@ from a talent and impact standpoint, I’d take Monta, Josh, Rip, Elton, Brandon, West and Kevin Martin. Chauncey’s nice in the Pistons system but I’m not sure how you take a guy of Chauncey’s age over any of these young cats (except EB), if all things are equal.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:38 am
check out the blog eboy, tell me what you think im doing right/wrong

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 9:41 am
Please stop advertising your blogs on SLAM Online. There really should be a rule against that.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 9:42 am
Anyway, this is the perfect spot for Chauncy. No argument here.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:46 am
jukai, i ain’t advertising, im asking for seasoned advice. Kinda like you don’t ask people to rip on you all day, your comments just make people do it

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 9:48 am
I second Eboy. Chauncey is s great player for Motown but he wouldn’t be as effective anywhere else.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 9:48 am
but no hate, you make me laugh on the regular with your cynicism

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 9:51 am
Oh my. Ok, let me work at this list of yours.
1)Monta- Not a true PG and runs in a system that plays to what he does well. Across the board, Chauncey does a number of things that Monta cannot.
2)Josh- Is this the same inconsistent Josh that was ranked 47? Get his some consistency, and then come talk to me.
3)Rip- I love Rip, but he cannot do things across the board that Chauncey can.
4)Elton- Chauncey has missed only 31 games total over the last 6 seasons. Brand missed all but 8 games last year.
5)Brandon- I’d actually have a hard time arguing against Roy personally and I thought he should be higher on the list. But for the sake of argument, i’d take Chauncey based on consistency, assist-to-TO ratio, top 5 free throw percentage in league last 6 seasons, clutch shooting.
6)West- I also like West and thought he should be higher, but he is undersized and plays a position that is not nearly as important on the floor. Ask David how much easier the game is playing with Paul.
    7)Kevin Martin? Really?

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 9:55 am
Money, ask for people’s email and ask them for advice. Stop advertising your blog. I’m not going to argue or bash you for this, or call your blog terribly boring and awful (it is). I’m actually just going to e-mail this issue to Ryne because I’ve been seeing it a lot recently, and it’s getting a little bit annoying.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 9:56 am
TADOne: Stop being an eBully. This is just Eboy’s opinion. No need to start arguing.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 9:58 am
TAD wins. Money I can max out on 75 (pounds). JK.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 9:59 am
I love it when I can’t tell if Jukai is being sarcastic or not.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 10:01 am
@Jukai: I know what your talking about but I think there is a big diffrence between what Money Bill is doing and what BET used to do. The only ones that should get banned are the ones who say like two incoherent words and then post a link to their website. Like “Kobe is awesome! Come see how Kobe jumps so high at highhopscam.com!” I actually like to know when SKO posts new stuff. Don’t hate too hard.

  • KA Posted: Sep.29 at 10:01 am
at this point in his career he’s liable to be rated over rather than underrated, by he still my man! / denzel. as a guard type player whos liable to play point most of the time (read: at 5-7 I’m short) but have gunner mentality, I love his game of timely passes, gulliness over athleticism and nice jumper/middle range game. also unlike most pg’s dude plays solid d. I love the fact in a final full of stars, the least celebrated team won and the unassuming/less heralded guy got MVP.

  • jalee Posted: Sep.29 at 10:02 am
wuts this, wuts this?? NOoo…chauncey stay with Deetroit!

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 10:02 am
so if you checked it out then you must have read the advertisments so then indirectly your adding to your own frustrations. Good luck with your email though

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 10:04 am
Oh, I have never clicked your name before in my entire life. I have only read Hursty and TADone’s blog. Sorry if I got your hopes up by saying it sucks without any actual evidence to back it up. You should know that about me by now.
Thanks for wishing me luck on the e-mail!
BLong: What’s the difference between an automated machine advertising pills and someone coming in and constantly reminding you he’s updating his blog? If he had a constant flow of readers, it wouldn’t be a problem. Ya hear?

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 10:13 am
Jukai, why do you have to be a d*ck all the time? Your cynicism and sarcasm are more annyoying than an inocous little comment designed to generate interest off of a major production. Our blog is updated as well btw. But thanks for stopping by.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 10:18 am
Jukai aka Slamonline’s version of Triumph the insult dog. He should be reacted to accordingly.

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:21 am
    Read my blog!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:21 am
    And Russ’!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:22 am
    And Ryan’s!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:22 am
    And Jake’s!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:24 am
I can keep going…but I won’t. Back to the point, Im not sure if Chauncey would want to spend life in what is becoming basketball purgatory (a.k.a. Denver) but I could certainly see how he’d help that team. Or any team for that matter. Consider this a co-sign on most of what TAD said. Id agree with it all, but that would just go straight to his head.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 10:24 am
Russ’s haiku’s are actually excellent reading. I’m done advertising.

  • Money Bill Williams Posted: Sep.29 at 10:25 am
you haven’t clicked my name? you should because i updated it! Now first off, i may not have a constant flow of readers because it is just becoming established, and like b long put, i am asking for constructive criticism, not ringing my own bell.
And i don’t feel the need for an immature insult slanging match that you love so much, because it’s too late over here right now to stay online, and i ain’t going to bring myself down to your level. So if you email Ryne about it I am happy for him to contact me about your issues, as i will explain to him how you got it all wrong.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 10:26 am
Not completely straight. It may stop off in my soul first.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 10:31 am
This is a compilation of Jukai hits:
    http://www.milkandcookies.com/link/2536/detail/

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 10:35 am
Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Next time you cry to Ryne because I’ve insulted you and I am going beyond the boundaries of what the comment sections should be about, Myles, I’ll just laugh and tell Ryne to read my blog.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 10:35 am
That was to Myles Brown, resident hypocrite

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 10:37 am
Continue advertising your blogs. By the way, are you guys comfortable with your size? I’m not talking about height! Well, if you’re not, or maybe you are but you’re just interested to see how you CAN get bigger, just click my name and come to that website in it. You’ll learn all sorts of techniques that will increase your “size” if you know what I mean. It worked for me, it gave Eboy an extra three inches (he’s up to four), and it can work for you!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:40 am
I’d cut and paste the definition of sarcasm, but I dont want to do any free advertising for Merriam Webster.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 10:43 am
    @Jukai: see 10:01 comment.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 10:43 am
While you’re at it, look up the definition of “asinine” so you know the purpose of your unconstructive posts. Thanx!

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 10:50 am
Sigh. I hate getting into these petty conversations in other people’s posts, but since Jukai obviously hasnt had enough attention this morning, Ill settle this for you. My sarcastic comments (as if there were ever any other kind…) were meant to be in complete agreement with you. But somehow you managed to take it as an insult and brand me a whining hypocrite. That of course, I dont agree with. So now you do have something to argue about, but Im not going to waste my time rebutting. Maybe if you write about it on your blog Ill read it later. Just advertise it right here.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 10:53 am
Jukai, do you think this is part of the reason you were (apparently) under the threat of being banned? You being just a general prick?
Have fun with my link when it gets out of moderation too. Hursty out.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.29 at 10:54 am
    100! Out! :)

  • johnk Posted: Sep.29 at 10:59 am
Author needs to look up the definition of, “literally”.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 11:00 am
Myles: Damn, well. Sorry! If it means anything, I don’t think you’re whiny.
    Hursty: Your blog sucks.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 11:01 am
I like attention too. Anyway, if you happen to scurry on thru here today Cub, I enjoyed your writeup.

  • Allenp Posted: Sep.29 at 11:03 am
I like Chauncey, but he’ll be broken down in two years. Pity. I don’t think he gets enough credit for being so good despite not having incredible athleticism anymore. He really struggles on the dribble drive finishing in traffic, but he’s still a beast on the block. Chauncey has made the most out of his talent and has really shown grit to comeback from being labeled a bust. I like that about him.

  • King David Posted: Sep.29 at 11:06 am
    Overrated

  • Bryan Posted: Sep.29 at 11:10 am
There’s probably 10 point guards in the league I’d rather have than Chauncey.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 11:18 am
    Bryan: who?

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 11:18 am
I mean, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Baron Davis, I’d probably take Kidd over Chauncy… maybe… that’s it for me. Do not add Allen Iverson into your list.

  • Bryan Posted: Sep.29 at 11:34 am
Personally I’d take Mo Williams, Jose Calderon, Mike Bibby, Gilbert Arenas, Tony Parker(shudders) and Andre Miller.

  • Bryan Posted: Sep.29 at 11:36 am
    The guys you included also.

  • Allenp Posted: Sep.29 at 11:38 am
Who I’d take over Chauncey to play the point at this stage of his career: Paul, Williams, Nash, Parker…..That’s it. I’m not saying that Billups is better than everybody else individually, but I’d prefer to have him running my team than all those other guys. And yes, I know Baron Davis is better than Billups as an individual.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 11:39 am
At this point in their careers I like Bryan’s list and I’d add Dash on there too.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 11:42 am
This was an interesting series of comments. And TAD, you’d never run a basketball orginization for me. Just saying.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 11:47 am
    *organization

  • Joel O's Posted: Sep.29 at 11:52 am
@Hursty: True, that. All that said though, this Pistons team isn’t going to win it again, not the way they’re built now. And honestly, I would move Chauncey or Rasheed before I would think about Prince or Rip.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 11:57 am
    Great rebuttal Eboy.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 11:58 am
Why bother arguing, too many bitches come through this place as it is?

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:00 pm
E, if you were asking the question about who exactly would you start an organization today with, of course you would take most of the guys on your list because of age. As you have been prone to say lately “no sh*t”. As for his placement on the list and where he stands in the game TODAY, he is rightly ranked above those 7 you mentioned.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:02 pm
You can say “bitches”? Interesting. Anyway, i’m not arguing. I’d prefer to call it debating. Arguing is something you do when you start taking debates personally.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:04 pm
Keep thinking that King Pistolito. I can’t wait until I get to argue Wade’s place at #8 so I can sound ridgid and thoughtful about my team’s sole representative. Actually, Marion should be on here, but he shouldn’t be so high, so I’ll dislike that pick too.

  • Cub Buenning Posted: Sep.29 at 12:04 pm
TAD, thank you sir. Sorry for the ECF gaffe. I have nothing to say to the other comments, other than, read my 3 Brothers’ Denver Sports Blogs at:
    http://www.kubiaktohold.blogspot.com
    http://www.blakestreetbias.blogspot.com

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:05 pm
So to be clear, I’d take Chauncey over Marion, so the list is tainted!!!!! :)

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:05 pm
    Nice Cub.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:09 pm
E, please enlighten me as to why you would take those 7 you mentioned over Chauncey. Forget my bias, I want to hear your reasoning for those 7 players. I offered mine and would actually probably place Elton and Brandon over Chauncey, but I more or less said that.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:28 pm
From my 9:35a comment, “Chauncey’s nice in the Pistons system but I’m not sure how you take a guy of Chauncey’s age over any of these young cats (except EB), if all things are equal.” Where is that hard to understand? Chauncey, in my opinion, needs to show out this season, in a big, BIG way. He’s not THAT far ahead of his backup (as you know) and his leadership skills (which does not have a category and a statistic chart to work off of) is very susceptible AT THIS MOMENT. Yes, being the belle of the ball is nice and all, but one finishing kick out of six appearances makes him the modern Jim Kelly or Bobby Cox on the leadership scale. I know he’s been gangsta-ish at times, and is clutch at moments, but that Mr Big Shot name needs to be retired like J-Will.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:31 pm
Or is it not the point guards job in 99% of basketball systems to run the team?

  • Bruno Posted: Sep.29 at 12:33 pm
i would rather shoot myself in the head before i choose Jose Calderon, Mo Williams or Mike Bibby instead of Chauncey.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:33 pm
You are correct then sir, I would never run a franchise for you.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:34 pm
Was that 12:31 comment pointed at me?

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 12:38 pm
I wouldn’t take Mike Bibby over Chauncey.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:38 pm
Who knows, I feel like promoting a blog!!!!!!!!

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.29 at 12:38 pm
Mike Bibby 2003 maybe. Not 2007.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 12:38 pm
    Or not.

  • Bryan Posted: Sep.29 at 12:41 pm
    I don’t promote my blog.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 12:43 pm
I would have liked to co-sign Bruno’s comment, but if I had the choice of taking Jose Calderon or taking Billups but also shooting myself in the head, I’d probably take JC.

  • ciolkstar Posted: Sep.29 at 12:44 pm
Wow. It got really gay on here all of a sudden. That would be awesome if Jukai got banned.

  • ciolkstar Posted: Sep.29 at 12:44 pm
Wow. It got really gay on here all of a sudden. That would be awesome if Jukai got banned.

  • ciolkstar Posted: Sep.29 at 12:46 pm
The fact Jukai said he would take Kidd over Chauncey(?!) validates all my criticism of his actual basketball knowledge.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 12:53 pm
I think i’m gonna change my screen name to “King Pistolito”.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 1:03 pm
You should. I’m all for it.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 1:06 pm
Cub… c’mon, I wanna see the trade you got in mind. Agree with Eboy… the Indians and Bills of basketball. The chip they won is tainted.

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Sep.29 at 1:27 pm
You Denver guys really stick together. I remember being very proud that LenDale White was wearing a homemade Chauncey/SLAM cover t-shirt as he was dropping in the 07 NFL Draft.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 1:29 pm
Tainted? Not sure how, but i’ll take a “tainted” one over none.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 1:31 pm
    ^ You’re telling me?

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 1:32 pm
And no, the Pistons title was well earned, no sarcasm.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 1:46 pm
I’d say the Heat title is far more tained than the Pistons title.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 1:47 pm
I just don’t think Shaq gave it his all to win that chip. The crap storm was already brewing in LakerLand with his contract.. I don’t think he had any desire to win a chip with Karl, or for Karl and Kobe (obviously). I still look at that roster and say no effin way. Plus the amount of times Kobe was trying to get the ball to Shaq and he just looked the other way pretending to not be able to get open sort of confirmed it for me. 6O something points in the one game.. c’mon. Something just doesn’t seem right. They barely get by NJ but crush LA?! Whatever.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 1:55 pm
Jukai: I would say neither title is tainted.
Flux: If you need motivation by the time you get to the Finals, then you don’t desrve to win. There is nothing ‘tainted’ about that. The Pistons wanted it more. Bottom line. No need to apologize for that.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 2:06 pm
You don’t need motivation if you don’t want something, TAD. True, at the end of the day they won, regardless of how. I just would have more respect for their title if the Lakers came at them 100 percent and they still won.

  • Cub Buenning Posted: Sep.29 at 2:08 pm
No doubt, Ben. Chauncey and LenDale are related, I believer, and two of Denver’s finest prep athletes, ever.
LenDale did own the state rushing record, before current CSU Ram back, Kyle Bell broke it from a small school in the plains.
Chauncey is possibly the best, ever, with a possible nod to Manual’s Chucky Sproling. 73 in a game before the 3-point line!

  • Allenp Posted: Sep.29 at 2:09 pm
I thought Kobe’s crazy chucking was the reason the Lakers lost to the Pistons? Check that, his crazy inaccurate chucking.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:16 pm
Flux: I’m still not understanding that logic. So the Lakers went thru the whole Western Conference Playoffs and decided when they got to the Finals that they actually didn’t want it? Go back and watch those Finals. Better yet, go get the issue of Slam when they break down all five games of that series. There is nowhere in there that one of the writers who covered the Finals mentions a Lakers squad that “gave up”. However, they do mention that the Pistons controlled the tempo of each game and matched up well with the Lakers. Trust me, the Lakers are professionals, they didn’t quit.

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:18 pm
    Chucky Sproling? St. John’s represent!

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 2:21 pm
I’m just saying.. had the Lakers played TOGETHER.. like the Pistons did.. the outcome would have been (perhaps) different or at least not a “sweep” the way it was.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 2:26 pm
I don’t need SLAM or anyone else to form my own opinion. If I did, why would I watch the games? And it only takes one to quit and sabotage the team.. and in this case perhaps the most important piece of the team. I never said the team quit.. I said Shaq quit. In my mind.. he got them to the Finals.. went to Jerry and asked for money.. Jerry served him the FU sandwich and Shaq said.. oh yeah? Watch me.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 2:28 pm
TADOne: They didn’t “quit” per say, but I do agree with FLUX that the Lakers team they beat had some serious issues. Shaq did not have the drive he had two years ago, Kobe was craving too much of the ball, Malone was constantly injured and Payton should never have had all those minutes he had.
Unlike FLUX though, I don’t take anything away from the Pistons beating that juggernaut of a team.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:29 pm
I’ll take your 2:21 comment as much more to the truth than your 2:26 comment.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:31 pm
Jukai: Yes, I can totally agree with that, 110%. I was taking offense that because a team has turmoil that it was a ‘tainted’ title. That was my main disagreement.

  • Cub Buenning Posted: Sep.29 at 2:33 pm
Ben, his offense was prolific in high school, but then became a defensive stopper alongside Malik at St. Johns.
Knew you’d love that Johnnies reference. Misery for us Broncos’ fans today.

  • H to the Izzo Posted: Sep.29 at 2:38 pm
I’m not sure how significant this is to the discussion but since someone who is relatively sane said that he’d take Monta over Chauncey made me question:Is Monta getting so much press recognition of being the guy that’s underrated that he has now become wildly overrated?

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:39 pm
I can’t talk because my team perpetually sucks. But hey, we fired Matt Millen! It’s a start, I guess.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:40 pm
izzo: yes. And I would argue that said person is relatively sane.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 2:43 pm
I didn’t know what other word to use, TAD. Fact is, he was demanding a contract extension at the start of the year (with 2 years left on the then current one) and didn’t get what the wanted (I think they gave him an offer later that year that would have made him the highest player in the L but he said no thanks) Bah, whatever. Like I said - the Pistons won it, regardless of what happened with the Lakers, I would just respect the title more if the Lakers played at 100%. I don’t get much satisfaction beating someone at anything when I know they are not trying. As for Allenp and his Kobe chucking.. when you get the team a second seed with a bunch of buzzer beaters and send the game into OT during game 2.. (while Shaq is looking into the audience and apparently getting man handled by Ben Wallace or that fossil Elden) …. chuck away my friend…chuck away.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:46 pm
Respect is overrated. Honestly though, I would have respected the Lakers more if they didn’t try to buy a title with two over-the-hill former All Stars.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:47 pm
I forget where your loyalties lie Flux? My guess is with the purple and gold.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 2:47 pm
I think Izzo was referring to me (sane, hmmmm……let me think) I just look at it from this point of view, Izzo. I wasn’t comparing postions, I was comparing talents. For my money, the talent of a young, up and coming Montae overrides that of a beginning to slide Chauncey is all. No disrespect for what Chauncey has done, but I’m going on the assumption that Montae takes on a much larger portion of the offensive burden for the Warriors (bye, bye Baron) while Chauncey’s role will be similar if not reduced (hello, Mr. Stuckey) this season, making Montae the more valued player in HIS system. If that is innacurate then I guess I watch another game from everyone else. Again, this is THIS YEAR’s list, not the 2005 version.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 2:51 pm
Oh, you said Montae. I thought you meant Monta earlier. That totally changes my position. My bad.

  • 9th Wonder Posted: Sep.29 at 2:52 pm
Monta, ebizzle. Monta. and Billups should be lower in this as in 2005 he was 28 and there is no way in hell he has been better than in that MVP cailber season he had years back.

  • H to the Izzo Posted: Sep.29 at 2:53 pm
But Eboy, who would you take right now. It’s either Monta or Chauncey? The world will end at the end of the season(or something) so potential has no part to play here.Who do you take to help you win a title right now?Incidentally,I don’t think that Monta will be that good.I mean he’ll be a high scorer and very entertaining, but I’m not sure if he’ll ever be as important to a team as Chauncey was to those Pistons teams.I mean, high scoring undersized combo guards grow on trees these days and I’m wondering how long their shelf-life is.Didn’t people love Ben Gordon not too long ago?

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 2:57 pm
TAD.. you know where I live. And I’m having a hard time being a fan of theirs. If anything I should be a Pistons fan.. but I could never bring myself to it, as much as I loved Zeke and the Bad Boys. (But I love the Lions) Agree.. buying chips (or attempting to like the Lakers as you mentioned.. and then the Celtics) earns zero respect in my books. However that doesn’t change my feelings about how the Lakers played and how the Pistons won theirs.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.29 at 3:00 pm
This list isn’t the “Who Would You Take To Win W Title” is it? If it was, about half of the first half of it should have been left off.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 3:01 pm
I’m just glad the Lions finally came to their senses and I didn’t have to do anything drastic.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 3:02 pm
See izzo, I told you to question that ’sane’ part. I’m off to lunch.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Sep.29 at 3:07 pm
Just my two cents—either no titles are tainted or all of them are. I’m sure you could look closely at every Finals, every playoffs, and find a reason why one team won over the other. Was the Pistons’s 1989 title tainted because Magic Johnson and Byron Scott were injured? Was the Bulls’s 1991 tainted because James Worthy and, uh, Byron Scott were injured? Was the Spurs’s 1999 title tainted because Patrick Ewing was injured? Was the Lakers’s 2000 title injured because they played the Nets? I’m just not sure where one would draw the line. At some point, winning is winning.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Sep.29 at 3:08 pm
Meant ‘tainted’ for 2000. Damn not having editing capabilities.

  • H to the Izzo Posted: Sep.29 at 3:11 pm
I agree with Russ. That logic makes no sense. It’s like people saying there should be an asterisk put on a major win if Tiger isn’t involved, which is stupid*
    *I wouldn’t normally make a golf analogy but as it’s a Cub post,I feel it’s safe.

  • Myles Brown Posted: Sep.29 at 3:21 pm
I understand that there are circumstances that could call any championship into question (And to answer Russ: Taint is a bad word, the strongest I can think of that might qualify is ‘illegitimate’ So, yes. Yes. Yes. No. And not just cause Im a LA fan. ) Its the nature of any sport with injuries, trades, suspensions, and hot/cold streaks. But there is a line that is crossed where the game itself becomes a travishamockery and things become ‘tainted’ due to unexpected/morally questionable things like ‘rogue refs’ amidst other bullsh*t. Things that cant be prepared for, combated or rectified. The Lakers Game 5 win over the Kings was tainted. The Heat title is tainted. The Suns loss to the Spurs due to Amares suspension is still a bit tainted to me.

  • Cub Buenning Posted: Sep.29 at 3:21 pm
    AR
i didn’t watch the Tour Champ this weekend.
    I wonder why.
It had nothing to do with my sour, semi-drunk attitude following that debacle at Arrowhead.

  • H to the Izzo Posted: Sep.29 at 3:24 pm
Cub:I have problems accepting the winner of the 1962 NBA Finals because MJ didn’t play due to being in the embryonic stages of life.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Sep.29 at 3:28 pm
Izzo: A little-known fact is that Embryo J still averaged 22ppg in that series.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 3:55 pm
Back from lunch just in time to get a good laugh. And Russ, I think injured was a better word than tainted in that sentence. It was the Nets, for heavens sake.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 3:56 pm
Russ and Izzo: San Antonio Spurs 2007 championship is tainted, tainted in every god damn sense of the word. You don’t have enough drugs in the world to get me to say otherwise.

  • Allenp Posted: Sep.29 at 3:57 pm
I don’t think the Heat ring is tainted. I know Wade shot a lot of free throws but it wasn’t like the whole Miami team was shooting free throws like that Lakers/Kings series. The Mavs struggled against a big athletic guard who took the ball to the rim. They had the same problem the next year against Baron, and had similar issues with Chris Paul and his quickness…Yeah, Wade shot a lot of free throws but most of them seemed justified to me. He was going to the rack and nobody could stop it. Just my thoughts.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 4:00 pm
Allenp: I was joking about the Heat championship. I thought one call at the end of the game (don’t remember the speficifcs) when Wade lowered his shoulder and rammed Jason Terry was a bad call, but that was a judgement call, you know? The Mavs did everything they could to collapse.
The Suns series is different. All four wins were total BS to me. I don’t acknowledge the Suns as a championship team, but I only acknowledge the Spurs as winning three championships.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 4:07 pm
Somewhere, Tim Donaghy is smiling. Or he is concentrating on not dropping the soap. Probably both.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.29 at 4:09 pm
This is a good spot for Chauncey. Since I don’t feel like reading all of the comments, what do you think TAD? Being a pistons fan and all . . .

  • ciolkstar Posted: Sep.29 at 4:11 pm
Jukai has vastly overrated the importance of his own perception.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 4:12 pm
Moose, since you don’t feel like reading I don’t feel like re-typing everything. Just read my 8:28 comment. It is like 10 comments in. Sums it up.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 4:13 pm
Ciol: Um, whatever that was supposed to mean, it sounded pretty deep.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.29 at 4:17 pm
Understood. You also said that was your last comment on this page . . . oops.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 4:18 pm
    I lie often.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 4:22 pm
Ciolkstar uses deep words to mask the fact that he knows next to nothing. He’s a poor man’s Chukaz.

  • Bryan Posted: Sep.29 at 4:24 pm
F*ck Chauncey. That sums it up.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.29 at 4:25 pm
Jukai, is your single goal to go on slamonline and insult people profusely? Sure seems like it . . .

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 4:26 pm
I still have love for you Shia. Don’t be mad though, you guys have Allan Houston.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 4:39 pm
Moose: Is it your job to read only what I write and literally nothing else? (Note: if it is, who in the world hired you to do that?)
Ciolkstar wrote something scaving at me. I didn’t even mention his name in this comment section until he posted. I ignored about three posts by him before I responded.
I expect an apologie or else I’ll cry.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 4:56 pm
(NOTE: Sorry if I’m reposting this for a third or fourth time but it wont show up on my screen)
You know… now that we’re down halfway… I’m a little bit confused here… I had Chauncy as my number 20. So, I’m wondering who are these five people who have edged ahead of Chauncy?
There are clearly going to be 19 people ahead of him: The Mamba, DWade, Timmy D, KG, Howitzer, Gil, Bron Bron, The Answer, DWill, Nashty, CB3, The Great Wall, STAT, the Truth, T-Mac, The Boshinator, The Flying Dutchman, Boom Dizzle, Booz and…. uh… Carmello Anthony… who has no nickname, does he?
Anyway, who are the other five who are going to be ahead of Chauncy?
Parker? Ginobli? Stephon Jackson? Richardson? Gay? Gerald Wallace? Shawn Marion? I don’t know if any of them are better or more valuble than Chauncy. Anyone who DOESN’T know the list ahead of time care to conjecture?

  • scott Posted: Sep.29 at 4:56 pm
Chauncey Billups is a player that makes his teammates better. This is good. On a serious note Tony Parker better not be in the top 24.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 5:02 pm
I would say you pretty much nailed it Jukai. I don’t think Richardson or Gerald Wallace are on the list.

  • dma Posted: Sep.29 at 5:03 pm
ugh chauncey billups as of today is not better than brandon roy. and a lot of the other players below him. mr “big shot” hasn’t been around for a good 3 years now. so so so overrated.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 5:04 pm
Who the hell is the Flying Dutchman?

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 5:05 pm
He hasn’t been around for a good 3 years?! Are you kidding me?! I’m off work now so i’m not getting into this again.

  • scott Posted: Sep.29 at 5:07 pm
@jukai…the rest of the list will go like this. In no particular order and I didn’t include Arenas and Manu for injury reasons.
    1. Chris Bosh (sorry flux)
    2. Carlos Boozer
    3. Kobe Bryant
    4. Caron Butler
    5. Carmelo Anthony
    6. Baron Davis
    7. Tim Duncan
    8. Kevin Garnett
    9. Rudy Gay
    10. Danny Granger
    11. Dwight Howard
    12. Allen Iverson
    13. LeBron James
    14. Shawn Marion
    15. Tracy McGrady
    16. Steve Nash
    17. Dirk Nowitzki
    18. Chris Paul
    19. Paul Pierce
    20. Jason Richardon
    21. Armae Stoudemire
    22. Dwyane Wade
    23. Deron Williams
    24. Yao Ming

  • scott Posted: Sep.29 at 5:08 pm
R.I.P. Jose Calderon, Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 5:10 pm
TADONE: Dirty. The Blond Bomber. The Big German! C’mon man!!!
Scott: Danny Granger will not be on this list. Mark my words.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 5:10 pm
HOLD UP! I knew someone would bring up the “all chips are tainted” argument. BUT not the way Russ did. If he would have said.. all the teams traded or got, at some point, better talented players on board and then won a chip or tried to (ala Celtics or Lakers with Karl and Glove) I’d say ok, there is some validity to that. HOWEVER - there is difference between injuries and CLEARLY not playing together/major player not giving it his all. Yes tainted is a bad word. The Pistons chips, yes could be argued were won easier due to injuires.. then again those players were at the end of their careers. But that’s not tainted in my books. NY vs Spurs -hell no. Ewing just didn’t have it when it counted and relied on the jumper too much. And NJ making the Finals the one year can be “tainted” since the Pacers were injured. Heck, then the Celitcs chip is tainted because Andrew didn’t play. ALL the Celtics chips are tainted then since Red ran a freaking monopoly back then. Yes, winning is winning….but co sign with Myles- there a situations when it’s not beating the other team, it’s having the title handed to them by the refs or the other team. And yes there can always be the argument of ” did one team win the chip or did the other lose it” To me the Celtics didn’t beat the Lakers as much as the Lakers lost by playing like dummies.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 5:12 pm
You know, I’m going with SJax, Manu, Parker… uh… Rudy… man… that last spot is going to be painful. I can’t see Shawn Marion getting the spot but there is no one else. Shawn Marion really doesn’t deserve it, but nor do SJAx, Manu, Parker, and Rudy. Well, I’d give it to Ginobli and Parker for going ballistic in the offseason, but certainly not Rudy Gay or Stephon Jackson.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 5:33 pm
scott… I don’t care what spot on some list Bosh is or if he’s on any list at all. He’s a talented young man, on the wrong team and wasting his talents with it. As being brought to light by some bloggers (Khandor stand up!! Arsenalist, stand up!!), the ownership group has no intentions on winning a chip.. only selling tickets and making money. We collect players that are at end of their careers, act as a farm team for Euros to get accustomed to the NBA game or squander away talent that we do occasionally get. (Carter, Bosh)

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 6:29 pm
SLAMONLINE: where people seriously comparing Ginobili & Parker with Rudy & SJax happens!!! You can be around this game 15 years and still don’t have a clue. In a way(a sad that is…) this is amazing. On the other hand, this is the power of scientific marketing…

  • Panagiotis Vasilopoulos Posted: Sep.29 at 6:37 pm
On a more serious note, wait untill this summer when David Stern has an emergency renegotiatiOn of the CBA and under the pressure of recession imposes maximum contracts of 10$million per year for the LeBrons of this league…then we will see who really cares about his place in the NBA history books and who will play for a Russian gas-billionaire somewhere in Siberia…(this is a worst case senario that seems to get closer every pasing WallStreet-hour…)

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 6:47 pm
PV: Do you even have a point when you post, or do you just decide that you have to use the bathroom and just piss all over the computer screen?

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 6:49 pm
I would go play for the Russian gas-billionaire in a second. Not because he has money, but because he’ll probably be the only person with gas.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.29 at 7:03 pm
Jukai, of course I read everyone’s comments. I just notice you hatin on guys left and right. Most of us are “regulars” here on slamonline, and I think we would like our opinions to be takin into consideration, stupid or not stupid. You just rip guys a lot, thats all. So why don’t we settle our differences and be friends, huh. ;)

Yo Romanian hiding as a Greek.. I agree with TAD. You just throw out comments left and right without backing them up with any substantial arguments or points. And when you get confronted you just hide with: i know things you don’t or I don’t want to engage in any discussion that may make me look like a fool. Seriously, stop acting like a kid and degrading people. Just because you are European does not make you intellectually superior to anyone or particularly North Americans …especially when you never lived here and are making judgments from watching TVR. Or some other Putin controlled station. Stop opening cans of worms if you are not going to make a point that makes sense and stop acting smug.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.29 at 7:27 pm
Thanks flux. I don’t think I was being that serious. I think I was just upset that I didn’t get a good workout at the gym because I forgot my Ipod and decided to take it out on the first person that was saying something dumb. Either way, I hope he enjoys Brandon Jennings for a year.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 7:48 pm
Moose: you’re an idiot. Just admit you made a mistake and move on.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 7:49 pm
Guy is proof of ubercontrolled media and brainwashing. I bet he’s typing while Gimn Sovetskogo Soyuza is playing in the background, Stalins picture is above the computer screen and Rocky IV is playing on the TV. Just change your name to Ivan Drago, champ.

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 7:49 pm
Also, I wasn’t comparing Parker and Ginobli with Rudy and SJAx… does he have a good enough reading comprehension level to understand what we’re saying?

  • j-smoov 5 Posted: Sep.29 at 8:06 pm
    Loved the letter. :D

  • Moose Posted: Sep.29 at 8:18 pm
Jukai, you just called me an idiot. Now I am going to go in the corner and cry.

  • fluxland Posted: Sep.29 at 8:20 pm
Jukai.. you simply cannot understand the genius and intellectual superior Ceausescu is. See, you were comparing them without even realizing it. It’s like a whole new level of comprehension us North Americans cannot grasp. That’s what they teach in the Gulag and the old KGB. You think the stores are empty and there is no food… but really the standard of living is much higher then it ever was.

Wow what a s@@@storm. what happened on here? Who thought Chauncy would cause so much consternation; you think Kobe had been put at number 12 or something the way this blew up (well I know that would be 1200 comments. but still…)

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.29 at 8:57 pm
Okay guys, from now on, Carmello Anthony’s name will be Melo Yellow!

  • Anton Posted: Sep.29 at 9:16 pm

  • scott Posted: Sep.29 at 11:16 pm
Tomorrow #24 Caron Butler. You guys can thank me tomorrow.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.29 at 11:17 pm
@ Bryan: I’d like to see you name 10 point guards better than Chauncy Billups. Please, feel free.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.29 at 11:19 pm
This spot is right for Chauncey, who after having proved himself before, for some reason is still underrated by so many people.

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.29 at 11:44 pm
Kobe at 12…? still too high.

  • Pistons Lover Posted: Sep.30 at 12:20 am
Chauncey aint over rated!!! If anything he under rated! He don’t get the credit he damn deserves!! All his career didn’t no one want him to being the hottest topic when it comes to a point guard! Please don’t talk out the side of ya ass!

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.30 at 12:43 am
Idiots. Blame Tmac for everything. And Mannatech. And Wafflehouse. Maybe just Letterman. Man hes sooo not funny anymore.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.30 at 12:45 am
    Im in/under moderation!? Lame.

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.30 at 12:47 am
Ah well, just because I said idi0ts. :)

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.30 at 12:59 am
Scott: Caron Butler hasn’t been called? Well, then deffintiely add Caron Butler on that list.

  • LAN Posted: Sep.30 at 5:19 am

  • Froggiestyle Posted: Sep.30 at 6:16 am
“You are the steadiest of steady” yeah maybe once he got to DET but go back and watch some old MN tape - boy was just as erratic as the rest of ‘em. No matter I still got luv for C and a bobblehead to prove it :)

  • CP34MVP Posted: Sep.30 at 11:18 pm
