Video: Red Bull King of the Rock on Alcatraz

It’s been nearly 50 years since basketball has been played in The Yard on Alcatraz. Since the inmates left the island in ’63, it’s been just tours — not blood sweat and tears. That was until Red Bull King of the Rock, a one-on-one basketball tournament, blew up the most famous island off the SF Bay. The tournament ran a 64-player bracket with five-minute games. L.A.’s Isaiah “Clutch” Bowman lived up to his nickname and beat Phoenix’s Gary Smith with a banker that broke the 6-6 tie with 2 seconds remaining. Congrats to the first Red Bull King of the Rock!
