Headbands and cursing

Tackling the tough issues.

By Sam Rubenstein

Three more real quick things I want to give you the links to.

1. The Association has visual proof of how stupid the Bulls are being in this whole headband mess. Not that Ben Wallace is being such a grown-up either. Ah… I’m glad someone else is writing about it. Otherwise I may start saying predictable things like “Headbands? We’re talking about headbands?” Ben’s quote: “I’m man enough to take the punishment. But I’m not sorry.” He’s talking like he’s going to prison. Man enough to not feel bad about wearing a headband. I think that may have been in Footloose.

2. Chris Sheridan is all over the Steph-Isiah conflict as well as the aforementioned headband situation. The guy is a professional. I have about 10 seconds worth of patience for each of these “stories.” That’s why he’s The Insider.

3. I listened to a recent Basketball Jones podcast with special guest Kelly Dwyer from SI.com. Hilarious. Either he wrote a script and rehearsed, or the man has a command of the English language that I’m jealous of. By “english language” I mean creatively phrased curses.

What is the obsession with being the first to post a comment, and why a comment just to post the word ‘First’? Is it some sort of honor that I’m missing out on? Please don’t post a comment unless you have something to say.

na I’m playing, but whats with all these coaches enforcing all these rules? This isn’t high school it’s the NBA. Why can’t he wear a headband? Does wearing one make you a thug? It’s not sloppy, I don’t get it. What wrong with music b4 a game? And forcing players to tape their ankles, thats ridiculous. I used to hate getting my ankles taped when i played cuz it was just not comfortable, not that my D3 trainers were on the same level as NBA ones, but the point is it’s not comfortable for everyone, why make them do it. Some of these coaches are just control freaks. If it doesn’t affect your performance on the court then it should not be a problem.

Scott Skiles i love him as a coach is an Indiana native like myself, but he is worrying about the wrong thing,he to worry about why no one wants to come to Chicago and play for him, you one of the biggest free agent classes in the next 2 years and Chicago won’t get none of them, and its because stupid stuff like this, they are grown men in the NBA so treat them like it,this ain’t AAU,thats why USA basketball is so screwed up cuz they baby these players to much, let them be MEN

his starting line up should be,Duhon,Kirk, Deng,Tyrus, and Big Ben, bring Gordon,Andres, PJ, off the bench,

We are talking about posting the word “first?”
We have serious problems with headbands and we are talking about posting the word “first?”
