In the wake of the bad news involving Monta Ellis’s ankle, the Golden State Warriors are understandably scrambling to come up with a contingency plan until their explosive guard returns to the court, sometime in the new year.
They’re reportedly thinking of changing up the offensive scheme a bit – something about Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson getting more shots – and are looking find a temporary replacement for the injured Ellis.
I will do you the favor of not linking to Shaun Livingston’s Faces of Death-esque knee injury from a couple of years ago, but yeah, that guy could be part of the group who will soon be entrusted with the Golden State Warriors’ point guard duties until Ellis is healthy again.

Mullin said he’s interested in Shaun Livingston and indeed will take a long-scheduled trip to Chicago to watch Livingston work out tomorrow. He said it wouldn’t worry him too much if Livingston can’t play immediately because he has enough ball-handlers, even without Ellis.
While no one can say for sure what will happen with Livingston and his surgically repaired knee, the Warriors’ opening night starter appears to be, for the moment anyhow, Marcus Williams.
