do the warriors really need another pg ….

Welcoming to the starting “2″ job, Monta Ellis.

Ryne Nelson says:
Good trade for both teams…the Warriors can’t rely just on C.J. Watson, and the Nets clear cap room for LeBrooklyn.

James the balla: yes. Yes. YES. You realize the Dubs have Monta (could work, might not—meaning great player, probably not a PG) and CJ “Possibly Serviceable” Watson. So yeah, they needed one.
That said: uh, who? I ignore the Nets because of their proximity to Vince Carter. Is this guy any good? His stats look, well, kind of depressing.

I love this move. Good for Marcus. I hope he starts.
Jukai says:
Tenorca: He’s servicable at worst, an above average starter at best. He’s got the slashing ability and a swift pass enough to be a good point guard, the only question is his court vision, which may or may not develop. He’s more a long term investment then an immediate starter.

He’ll flourish in Don Nelson’s system. Bet on it.

Jukai: Sounds like a poor man’s Monta Ellis. Which isn’t a bad thing. I was hoping he was more of a passer but the assist numbers were pretty low; of course, he was on that dysfunctional Nets squad so I’ll definitely hold off judgement for a good long while and see how he does. Everyone loves playing for Nellie and, if this kid RUNS, he’ll fit right in. The Dubs are reacting to the loss of BD by going faster (if possible) and I’m all for it. Might not be successful, but it’s a plan and it should be entertaining.
Still, I liked CJ Watson. Hope he gets a contract too; need at least one “true” PG.

Jukai says:
He CAN make great passes Tenorca if he sees the open man Tenorca, the question is his ability to find the open man (he probably wont ever reach the Paul/Nash/Williams level where he can create passing lanes). He’s a decent floor general and he certainly puts the Warriors in a better position than they were, but he’s no Baron Davis.

Jukai says:
Also, I saw a game against Phoenix where Kidd couldn’t keep up so they benched him and put in Williams, and Williams did a pretty damn good job running with Phoenix. So he deffinitely fits the bill on the whole ‘Nellie ball’ scheme.

Jukai: That’s reassuring. Just read he was injured last year, so that diminishes the importance of his numbers even more than being doomed to that sucktastic Nets squad. Plus, Nellie knows his guards. He’s got a good nose for 1s and 2s as well as guys that play well in his system. Dunleavy was out in half in a year and Buike (whom I hope we keep) was poached from the D-League. CJ Watson too, if memory serves.
And yeah: there’s no other Barons, for better or for worse. I’m not buying the “we’ll be better off without him” garbage, but I’m excited to see the kids on this squad run everyone else into the ground, while simultaneously giving up 150 points a game.

why wouldn’t the warriors need another pg after losing davis?? Monta isn’t a real point and they don’t have a point right now who’s better than Marcus Williams. Good move.

Word. Lou stays in Philly. I wonder why they gave up on this kid in favor of Dooling. I have a feeling he’s gonna be a Chauncy type; bounce around for a minute, and then flourish in the right situation. Unless of course, Jersey knows something I dont.

Do the warriors need another guard? No.But being fast, and talented is definately perfect for the warriors style of play.Williams played under Calhoun at Uconn who is sick at producing NBA players, not to mention being mentored by J. Kidd. Will he make up for BD leaving, no, but he’ll help fill the gap.Who knows one day in the future Mr. Williams may make the warriors fans forget Baron Davis even laced it up for em’.
peace

This is a good pick up. I would honestly like him to start, but monta is definetly starting. I don’t know who else he would start over, not unless the W’s went insanely small and started beidris/jack/mag/monta/williams. but thats not happening.
