Magic vs. Pistons: The War of Words Has Begun
OK, so Soulja Boy and Jay-Z probably won’t be getting involved in this one, but it is still a nice little distraction from the methodical Game One beatdown administered by Detroit.
Following the game, Rashard Lewis and Theo Ratliff did a little posturing in the press, posturing that was inspired by a hard foul on Ratliff from the smaller Lewis.
“There’s no need for guys to come to my rescue. I mean, that’s Rashard Lewis. He fouled me hard, but he’s a three-man (small forward). It wasn’t a big deal.”
Your response, ‘Shard?
“You can have a lot of energy when you play five minutes a game,” [Lewis] said. “What has he played all season, 15 games? Tell him to come out and guard me at the 3-point line and we’ll see what happens.”
Ooh, them’s some fightin’ words! Come out and guard you at the three point line? Theo better be careful, Rashard, he could get seriously hurt out there. You know, by all of those long-distance bricks you were tossing up in the series opener.

I didn’t even know Theo Ratliff was on the Pistons this year. I guess they were saving him for his game.

Lewis played well in the 1st half. If the normal D12 had turned up the Magic might have won

Is it too late for Eminem to write a diss track about Rashard? “The Real Slim Shardy”? OK, I’ll stop.

I wish the Pistons could spontaneously combust. Rashard is the best max role player ever. I still dont get how Orlando outbid itself.

Nice to see how Ratliff, in his 12 minutes, still had a bigger impact on the outcome of the game than Lewis. Unless disappearing in the crunch counts, that is. Btw, anyone catch that block on Dooling? Vintage Rattler. He still has his moments and it definitely helps to have a guy like him to throw at Howard. The aforementioned “conflict” on the court was funny as hell, Ratliff didn’t even look at Lewis, but only became involved after he saw Maxiell going there in his defence. He then proceeded to pull Max out, probably telling him just what he told the reporters.

Theo’s not a smack talker. He’s an old school hard nosed playa who gets injured most of the time.

Not so great response there by Sweet Lew. I still feel that Magic can pull out Series. People are talking like they are down 3-0 already.

BTW, Vanilla Ice claimed he was from Miami, but he was really from Texas. Some kids from Palmetto High exposed him from what I remember…
I’m sure the SoFL linkstagators (EBoy, Cheryl) will remember.

Justin, that bi*tch isn’t from Miami. And he lives in one of the ritziest areas of Florida today, the Village of Wellington, where he was arrested recently. Dude always was, and still is a fraud.
May.5 at 4:44 pm
Tuomas says:
Justin, I sure don’t talk like it’s 3-0. Detroit sure knows how to keep their fans on the edge, so I know better. That said, if they play like they’re supposed to play, there’s no way in hell this goes past five or six games. But, you know, that’s a big if right there.

Tuomas says:
I sure put one too many ’sures’ there.

Justin says:
Eboy, I know he isn’t from Miami. But from my middle school days in MiaBch I remember hearing on Power 96 that some journalism kids from Palmetto found out he was lying. Didn’t know if you remembered who “outed” him. I know that he lives down there. I remember when “The Sauce” did their all Miami issue in the early 90’s (with Uncle Luke on the Cover) that they did an article about him talking mentioning that Seikaly (The Spin Doctor, as Dr. Jack would say) was his neighbor.

Justin says:
Tuomas, if Brian Hill was still at the helm, I would agree. But, just because of SVG the series will go six.
May.5 at 5:56 pm
Eboy says:
He was holed up in MIA for a while when the publicity for his first(and only) tour as Vanilla Ice came around. He was put up by the record company. That is fact.

The Promise says:
well, Theo is stilla defensive stopper, so i think he could block him at least…he probably couldnt guard him at the 3 point line, but if i was rashard, i wuld steer clear of the rim, cause hes gonna make him eat it…but really, what does it matter? We all know whoz gonna win…yea u guessed it… PISTONS IN 6!!!!

Andre green says:
I just heard T-Mac is trying to get back with the Orlando Magic because he wants to play with a big man and a bunch of role players hey wait a minute… Oh and it looks like The Promise and Bubba Chuck war of words may be a tad bit better than Ratliff who honestly doesn’t get much play time and Lewis who’s just tall and really damn soft. So it’s not a war of words just and honest fest.

id rather have a 1-on-1 game

Tuomas says:
Yes. Overcoming all those three bombs, Howard’s better night, losing the rebound war especially on the offensive glass and Jameer not getting embarrassed by Chauncey this time. Maybe the Pistons really feel like walking the walk. Too bad for the Magic, no way the refs were gonna rule out that Chauncey three with the leverage they had. Gotta love SVG though. Good luck with Nelson hitting 5 of 8 again in the next one.

Tuomas says:
Also, Ratliff did get dunked on by Dwight (like any good defender probably would), but also had a nasty block on Arroyo in the closing moments of the third. Which of course led to a fast break alley-oop to Sheed. Talk about that one play as much as you like, but it wasn’t like the momentum hadn’t already swung at that point.
