Worthy of Your Attention
MVP Night
I can’t figure out what to do tonight. If it’s nice out, maybe I’ll go for a walk … Or better yet, catch a movie … Leatherheads seems somewhat tolerable … I haven’t gone bowling in a while…
(If you’re also looking for something to do tonight, and happen to be one of those weirdos who enjoy highly-competitive basketball, there’s a game between the Hornets of New Orleans and Lakers of Los Angeles that might be of interest to you.
Apparently, the outcome of said game could end up playing a significant role in determining not just who wins this season’s Most Valuable Player award, but which of the two teams emerges as the top dog in the Western Conference.
Some guy at the office told me that great players rise to the occasion in these types of “statement” games, and that it’s probably Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul’s last chance to cement their MVP candidacy.
It kind of sounds like a big deal. But I wouldn’t know anything about it.)
Yeah, I’m probably going bowling.

See, now i’m confused, because i’m not sure which one that is that responded. It could very well have been either. But, as for the subject, I hope Paul gets 30/15 tonight with 4 steals.

let’s just give the award to the guy whose team wins. No more arguments. LeBron is not in the discussion. 50 win cap. (Paul’s gonna win though ’cause all the mainstream media cats HATE Kobe. On the real, ive seen more articles about how Kobe shouldn’t win than ones about who should.

Tough calls on the Hornets last night. Some very iffy fouls on Chandler and Paul that changed the complexion of the game. Seems like the refs really get carried away with the Laker crowd… But still, the Laker defense really surprised me last night. Aside from the stretch where they almost blew a 30-point lead, they looked better than the Celtic defense.

still think paul is mvp for the SEASON, this was one game, if spurs beat lakers does that mean TD is mvp?

There’s no way the real Eboy would be going “Kobe for MVP”. Nor would the real Eboy BE TALKING LIKE THIS! To whoever’s behind that stupid clone, it’s pointlessly stupid so maybe you should stop it and go do something constructive like ditch your imaginary friends for real ones.

can we please give the mvp to kobe bryant.. i dont know about anyone else but all star voting has become a joke itz no longer an honor to be in that game anymore (i dont mind the rookie sophomore games becuase itz great to see someone who getz no playin time come in and light it up ie david lee one year iggy da otha etc) and the last three years the mvp has lost its prestige as well i mean who ever heard of steve nash of dirk playing defense kobe basically carried the lakers by himself into the playoffs those years not too mention is freakish scoring nights… so now we come to this year paul vs kobe both legit candidates but seriously chris paul? if i had peja tyson n west on my team id be rackin up 20 assists a night too! so kobe has become a veteran this year and really shown great leadership skills (good work mitch on bringin fisher back which was da best off season signing i saw) and everyone in the league knows that he can still go for 50+ wheneva he wants so plz give kobe the mvp and make that award mean something once again

Kieran says:
andrew i think youre right about the mvp losing its shine a little, my choce this year is Paul but last year should of been kobe. Dirk is probably the worst mvp ever and i love nash and think he deserved 1 but back to backs? not so sure. Also you wouldnt be able to rack up 20 assists a night
Apr.13 at 1:01 pm
Tim Duncan says:
If Kobe doesn’t win it this year, he never will, which is sad. Kobe should have had like 3 MVP’s already.. DO NOT VOTE FOR CP3. Also I agree with the comment above where Dirk was the worst MVP ever… The team could have very well made the play-offs with Josh Howard taking 3’s instead. Dirk is incredibly replaceable on that team, unlike Kobe.
Apr.13 at 5:32 pm
PistonsRuleTheCourt says:
The calls were crap, and the Lakers blew a 30 point lead. That game shows CP3 for MVP, even with the Hornets getting the L. If Lakers Hornets in Playoffs, Hornets in 7. payce

how does he make his teammates better? He publicly called them out, which is exactly what they needed before the season started. HIs mere presence on the floor creates open shots for his teammates, regardless if he gets the assist, or someone else does.

Andrewbulls 24 says:
Kobe is my favorite to win he has been the best player in NBA for a long time now KG and CP3 have done good but have either of them averaged over 30 points or won a championship no Kobe has done both of those more than once he is the MVP and has been for a while.
Apr.14 at 7:12 pm
AC says:
You can’t judge making his teamates better by assists only. PG’s would be a lock for any year! Besides… You can’t say anything bad about any of the canditates… only promote the one that you think is doing the best to get his team over the hump… and is at a skill level worthy of that years MVP. By the way… I vote Kobe.
