Worthy of Your Attention

by Marcel Mutoni

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: A team in the Western Conference might win 50 games … and end up watching the Playoffs on television like the rest of us.

In case you’ve been stuck under a large rock, and thus have not managed to follow the League this season, that shocking scenario should give you a pretty good idea as to how insanely competitive the West has been.

The team that will have to live with the infamy of 50 wins no postseason appearance to show for it will either be the Golden State Warriors or the Denver Nuggets. And tonight, they meet up in Golden State to settle matters.

If you aren’t looking forward to this game, you should just go ahead and kill yourself right now, because you’re already dead inside.

I fully expect the Golden State crowd to reprise its role from last year’s Playoffs as the single loudest in the entire Association, setting the scene for a classic game. It would also be nice if the Nuggets showed up in a huge game for once.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going out to pick up some popcorn.

Why IS the game so early for being in the WC? It’s like a 5pm tip off? Weird. And, Marcel you are a funny guy!

Who cares Holly?! I’m loving the fact I can stay to watch the whole game and not hate life in the morning.

I have a feeling both teams are actually going to give their best defensive efforts of the entire year tonight, that’s why I have the score so low.

Holly MacKenzie says:
As of yesterday morning, Golden State is averaging 110.78 points. Denver is averaging 110.66. It is going to be fun. Ah Tad, it will be good. I guess I’m just used to staying up. BUT, I won’t have to choose between GS/Denver and LAL/LAC. NOT that this would be a choice for most of you, but, you know how it goes.

Is Elton playing tonight?

Apr.10 at 4:38 pm

Jolst says:
You mean Elton the brand name?

Apr.10 at 4:39 pm

TADOne says:
Sure do.

Apr.10 at 4:52 pm

Jolst says:
Sure he does. How will the Clippers organisation otherwise re-injure their star player in meaningless games?

Apr.10 at 5:02 pm

G Diesel says:
If Denver loses tonight, they should rebuild the whole team in the summer. The only players that should come back are Carmelo and Camby.

I love the Nuggets and the Warriors its a shame that one isnt making the playoffs, I think GS will win as Denvers defence (or lack of) is SO frustrating!
Do people feel its time for a rethink on the way the playoffs are seeded?

ciolkstar says:
I’m as big a gully state fan as anyone but they have been playing uninspired ball recently. Absolutely no hustle and terrible d (even for them) But still they will break one over the Nuggets heads tonight.

I Don’t Know How People Thought The Nuggets Would Lose This Game. They’ve Won All of The Big-Hype-End-of-The-Regular-Season Games Since ‘04. The Problem Is The None-Hype Games That They Find Ways To Lose.

Denver plays in Utah next time after that welcomes Huston. While GState visit the Clippers than the Suns. Plus ATL going to have at least one though game. But every game is tough for the Hawks, I guess… So I think it going to be exciting week.

Apr.11 at 9:31 am

hursty says:
clapzilla, they havent won anything in the post season. NOTHING! With Melo, they are o-4 in the playoffs in first round series. He is not ‘The Guy’. Not gonna get em past the first round, not for 2-3 years when AI starts slowing down running the team and JR passes the rock.

Apr.11 at 5:50 pm

Bubba Chuck says:
@ the promise: u were saying?

Apr.11 at 9:37 pm

Anon says:
Hursty, AI will slow down when he feels like it. I’m tired of people saying he will slow down in 2 or 3 yrs. You people have been saying that since the guy was 27 yrs old and at 32 still one of the fastest players in the L. SMH
Although I do agree that Carmelo isn’t that type of player to lead a team, he’s a good solid player, just not that type of player which is another reason why I beleive they made the trade for Iverson in the first place. If that Nuggets team is going anywhere they need both AI and Melo to play solid, but its going to be Iverson that leads them. But I guess people already knew that. I don’t want to see the Nuggets miss the playoffs though, so good win for them.

Dont worry Bubba they are screwed against the Hornets
