The SPURS are killing the Suns. we shut down Nash and the pick and roll fior the entire 2nd half. If we win game 3 in Phoenix, we’ll sweep. Probably Spurs in 5. Boom Tho!!!

i just popped my first cherry! So are you saying that both teams decided that they are gonna be way too exhasted after this series to compete with the Lakeshow? At least they know.

ciolkstar says:
Seriously, though has, anyone ever seen a defense quarter that could rival what the the Spurs did in the 3rd last night. For a true hoop fan who respects great D (regardless of the team playing it) that isht was magical.

More than anything Pop delivered a psychological blow to the Shaq experiment. Nash seemed dazed and confused talking to reporters babbling about sticking to the game plan or maybe making an adjustment. All confidence gone. Going in front of your home-crowd in a play-off game will rectify that quickly and I wouldn’t call the series quite yet.
Apr.23 at 3:03 pm
ciolkstar says:
A part of me thinks this could go 7 but after watching the last two games I’m not sure. Nash looked frazzled and the Suns just do’t ahve the ability to get stops in crucial situations. While the Spurs’ success has been prdicated on exactly that, clutch stops.
Cheryl says:
oops. What I was about to say, before my fingers ignored my direction, is that in the past, on a Shaq team and in a series that it seemed like all hope was lost, Shaq would gather his troops and calm them down by letting them know that he was about to go out and dominate, and they could just follow his lead. Well, those days? G O N E
Apr.23 at 3:23 pm
Cheryl says:
The Suns will win a game or two, maybe on the Spurs floor, but until they find some mental toughness, and in the next few days, this series is definitely over.

“…in the past, on a Shaq team and in a series that it seemed like all hope was lost, Shaq would gather his troops and calm them down by letting them know that he was about to go out and dominate, and they could just follow his lead.”
Or theyd just get swept.

Is anyone else besides me sick of the Spurs’ PA announcer yelling “Here come the Spurs!” every 2 f*cking seconds? They are a GREAT team and they are the defending champs but this is even more reason for me to hate ‘em. Black Mamba vs. Big Fundamentals in the Western Conference Finals!!!!

i think the mental issue of losing this year will be HUGE for phoenix. amare has gone up against the spurs several times now, even with marbury at his side, and while even that one was exciting, he’s been beaten by the same guy every single time. steve nash has topped this by never winning a series against duncan, dating back to his mavs days. they called up their big brother (shaq) to protect them from the bully, and if they can’t win with shaq, what next?
Apr.23 at 5:56 pm
whooo! says:
thinking of streaks though, with duncan, up until last year, he had never lost a game to the celtics. it took paul pierce 9 yrs to beat duncan in a game, though i guess playoff losses suck more. will phx ever get over the roadblock all teams who win a ring have to endure? or end up like the kings/lakers?

Come on, this year is the year of the SUNS. They can still get back at this they just have to hold serve in their home floor. Amare must be more aggressive. He should want the ball every possession he has been unstoppable in this series. Suns coaching staff are just dumb giving the ball to Barbosa and Diaw during crunch time. Plus I would like to see another Raja Bell’s clothesline special on Kobe ‘im scared of Raja” Bryant.

Go ahead everyone, write off the suns. When they turn the series around, and maybe even win it, I dont want to hear anything about how the spurs got screwed. And all you bandwagon suns fans who are giving up on the suns now, dont come running back later.
