Jay-Z Comes to LeBron’s Defense in Song, Disses DeShawn
If we’re not careful, and by that I mean if we don’t keep rappers out of it, this Wizards/Cavs series is going to end in gunfire.
Incredibly, LeBron’s BFF and New Jersey Nets minority owner (!) Jay-Z got involved in the increasingly bitter LeBron James-DeShawn Stevenson “rivalry” over the weekend. Which might be part of the reason why DeShawn tried to take off LeBron’s head in Game Four.
You read that right. Jay-Z, the Jigga Man, H-to-the-Izzo, Mr. Beyonce Knowles, made diss record about DeShawn Stevenson that was played at the D.C. night spot Love on Friday night, according to several witnesses. I have not heard the song or the lyrics but I was told that Jay-Z freestyled over the beat for the track, “Blow The Whistle” by rapper Too Short.
Seriously, a diss track about DeShawn Stevenson? He of the career averages of less than 9 points, less than 3 boards, and less than 2 assists per game? The man who has not only failed to slow down LeBron, but has just managed a shade under 12 points per game in the heated series? Whose team is on the brink of elimination?
As stupid as all of this is, I’m glad Jay has opened up a new line of communication for NBA big shots. Dissing players in song is so much more interesting than blogging.
(The diss track, which you probably shouldn’t play in the office, can be found here.)

Oh Boo Hoo, Lebron got his big brother JayZ to diss Lil Deshawn, this is crap.
Deshwn did allude however that there was some other stuff that happened in the past between these two that promted him to say Lebron was overated, I guess he menat overated off the court.

From Detroit News: “But by far the dumbest scenario going on — and frankly, one of the most entertaining — is the Wizards-Cavaliers diss-a-thon. The Washington Post reported Sunday that hip-hop legend Jay-Z — aka Mr. Beyonce Knowles, aka LeBron James’ rich uncle — made what the kids are calling a diss record about DeShawn Stevenson of the Wizards and actually played it Friday night at a Washington night spot. You know I am big on the hip-hop, so what I am hearing (from Michael Lee of the Post) is that Jay-Z freestyled over the beat for the track, “Blow The Whistle” by rapper Too Short. It was tight. Nobody knows the words, but Caron Butler of the Wizards was apparently in the club and not only heard the song, but witnessed Damon Jones of the Cavaliers grabbing the mic from the club DJ and saying more nasty things about Stevenson and the Wiz. Butler immediately paged Stevenson to tell him what was going on. “This is basketball,” Stevenson told the Post on Saturday. “I’m not worried about the song. I’m not worried about what he did. But for Damon Jones to get on the mic — and I heard he was saying foul stuff about me and stuff like that — they’re taking it beyond basketball to me.” Stevenson hinted that his riff with James goes deeper than most people understand, but he’s OK with that. “Everybody is saying the bad things that I’m saying nationally, but they don’t understand why I’m mad,” he said. “That stuff doesn’t come out. I’d rather be the bad guy. People think I’m going at him, but they don’t see the little stabs that he’s doing.” Gilbert Arenas said he thought Stevenson should take it as an honor that a star like Jay-Z immortalized him in a song. “It’s the big dog,” Arenas said. “It’s not like it’s somebody else. If I had three people to talk about me in a song it would be Jay-Z, Michael Jackson and Prince. And Tupac and Biggie, let’s be for real. Jay-Z doesn’t mention too many names. There’s LeBron, Jordan and a couple of years ago he mentioned Yao (Ming) and T-Mac (Tracy McGrady). If I’m DeShawn, ‘Thank you brother. Appreciate you brother.’”

This is exactly why I don’t like Lebron or Jay-Z. Why is Jay-Z dissing DeShawn, but when Dipset, Peedi Crakk, & Joe Budden were going at him, he ain’t have s#*t to say. Also did you guys here LeBron crying about DeShawn hitting him with a closed fist. The replay clearly showed that was a lie. And you guys saw how fast he got back up when DeShawn hit him, but in game 2 when Haywood it him, he turned away real quick. Overall LeBron is a p#$*y, and I’m getting real tired of the constant ABC/ESPN slurpage of LeBron. Did you guys hear Mike Tirico yesterday? Plain embarassing for a grown man to slurp like that. Keep LeBron outta of NY.

Umm… somehow Roc-Boys no longer seems like an appropriate choice for the Wizards’ intro track. Let’s look at changing that up for game 6.
At this point, “The Beard” aka “The Tattoo” may also wish to mention that Jay “Budweiser Select” Z is also overrated.

What is Jay-Z thinking? Foolish decision to make a diss track towards DeShawn, reminds me of how Eminem would diss Christina Aguilera. But DeShawn should contact Eminem to create a diss track at the Cavs and Lebron to win the battle, he’ll probably outdo Jay-Z again.
