eyehatedirk says:
First, I’m going to go with “dirty play” on this one. I mean, it’s Bruce Bowen after all………..

Apr.10 at 10:07 am

Dan says:
F*ck Bowen! He’s a dirty player, regardless of whether Amare overreacted this time or not.

Apr.10 at 10:09 am

Knicks! says:
wasn’t really dirty
you don’t know if he did that to hurt Amare
I think Amare was overreacting

Apr.10 at 10:11 am

uninteresting says:
I can see almost nothing in the video. Who cares, its bruce bowen. So it was a dirty play

Apr.10 at 10:11 am

Drowzee#096 says:
amare overreacted man bowen didnt wanna end up on the floor.

Apr.10 at 10:14 am

d.Y. says:
Amare is a giant version of the guy who calls foul at every bump in a pickup game.

Apr.10 at 10:18 am

Benoit Benjamin says:
Enough with Bowen being called dirty. Basket-ball is a contact sport for crying out loud! Nothing cheap in that.

Apr.10 at 10:27 am

k.o. says:
i can’t really see much, what was dirty about it? bowen ran into the screen and kept goin

Apr.10 at 10:27 am

Captain America says:
There will be blood! If Amare had the stones he would rip Bowen’s arm off his shoulder and beat him with it.

Apr.10 at 10:28 am

WhaHuh says:
battier’s trip on durant was dirtier

Apr.10 at 10:38 am

Spaceship Jay says:
Lol, it’s so funny how p***y the nba gets year by year. Teams used to punch each other in the throats on fast breaks.

Apr.10 at 10:44 am

Sesa says:
I said, a little bit of both. Amare needs to man up while Bowen needs to stop pretending

Apr.10 at 10:58 am

Big Mokeski says:
Hey, why not overreact? The refs miss so much of what Bowen does (see, eg, when he shoved down Nash as Amare went up for the and-one over Duncan), it seems only fair to overreact when you know the refs and TV will catch it?

Apr.10 at 10:59 am

Jim Mora says:
Amare is a b*tch.

Apr.10 at 11:10 am

Benny The Jet Rodriguez says:
While that play didn’t really look dirty, just the fact that Bowen is in the middle of all of these incidents alone makes him a dirty player.

Apr.10 at 11:10 am

Paps says:
Spaceships right on the money with that comment!

Apr.10 at 11:11 am

riggs says:
yeah im pretty sure you guys will keep on playing right after u get kneed in the crotch. bowen saw the pick coming and like always does something dirty about it.

Apr.10 at 11:16 am

www says:
look at the last clip in that video… it’s a little hard to see but you can see bowen thrust his forearm/elbow into amare’s chest HARD.

Apr.10 at 12:06 pm

Dark says:
agreed w/Spaceship. overreaction from Amare(again) - thank goodness this guy didn’t know the 90s NBA.

Apr.10 at 12:07 pm

RV says:
well, if this was a close game in the final seconds i’d say Amare was floppin’, but what reason would he have to fake it in a blowout? Bowen obviously pushed off, but i think a lot of players do that to fight a pick off, so it wasn’t dirty, just possibly a foul, Amare went down probably because the hit pinched a nerve or sumn like that

Apr.10 at 12:12 pm

steve says:
It looks like Bowen hit Amare in the throat with his forearm. I don’t know how Bowen does it, but it’s as if his mind is always thinking of the next possible dirty play while still focusing on the rest of the game. That in itself is amazing.

Apr.10 at 12:25 pm

Jukai says:
I like how 12-year-olds (spaceship) always call for the GOOD OLD DAYS when people punched each other during basketball. And it was called boxing. And all that never really happened. From watching the video, I’d be inclined to say that Bowen just ran into Stoudemire with his elbows while trying to get around the pick… but then I noticed there are four or five “Bowen (hit/trip/kick/slap)’s Amare” videos on youtube right next to this video. And then I get to thinking.

Apr.10 at 12:35 pm

BxBaller says:
Amare was overreacting, but what do you guys expect, the Suns are a bunch of whining crybabies.

Apr.10 at 12:37 pm

Skillet Forilla says:
That was nothing. Man, Amare is a great offensive player, but his head gets too easily taken out of games. That was pretty clean by Bowen standards from what I could see. Bowen is a dirty player ,don’t get me wrong, but that didn’t look like a dirty play to me.

Apr.10 at 12:54 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Well it seems that apparently I’m not 12 (because of my knowledge of yesteryears Nba), or p***y because I don’t get all infant-like when things get physical. Much like your man Amare, and your p***y comment, Jukai.

Apr.10 at 1:01 pm

Weak says:
Agreed wholeheartedly with Spaceship.

Apr.10 at 1:04 pm

Ken H. says:
At least he doesn’t clothesline people *COUGH RAJA BELL COUGH*

Apr.10 at 1:08 pm

TMT says:
If only Bowen would haven taken him out…. GO LAKERS!

Apr.10 at 1:13 pm

Solito says:
If it wasn’t Bowen, we wouldn’t even talk aobut it. In the old days, when Mahorn and Laimbeer set blind side screens, they had to bring out the smell salt (or the stretcher). Amare sets a soft screen and Bowen hetches over it hard… Man up, Stat!

Apr.10 at 1:21 pm

MagicMike2k7 says:
what a bitch

Apr.10 at 1:25 pm

underdog says:
Well, I don’t really like Bowen, but in this case I think it was clear.

Apr.10 at 1:29 pm

Sam says:
id like to see you guys take a hit from bruce bowen, why over react when ya up buy 20. TO Ken H: no he doesnt clothesline people he knees them in the balls.(like he did to steve nash.). You can clearly see bowen elbow him in the ribs!!

Apr.10 at 1:32 pm

lol says:
Lol at rivalry between spaceship and jukai

Apr.10 at 1:42 pm

Solito says:
Come on Sam. If Amare had proper stands for the screen, instead of just wasting space, he could have absorbed that chicken winged you call “hit”. Bowen will be Bowen, and Amare should have seen it comming.

Apr.10 at 1:43 pm

Ken H. says:
You’re supposed to pop a guy when he sets a screen in the backcourt. That way he thinks twice the next time he does it. That’s just the game. No doubt Bowen put his elbow out, but that’s the game, not a dirty play. Amare’s a poster boy, I’m sure Michael Ruffin takes plenty of shots to the rib and doesn’t say anything.

Apr.10 at 1:53 pm

Sam says:
how could you absorb something flying into your sternum no one has any muscle or fat there. He was probably winded you dumb asses.

Apr.10 at 2:31 pm

Sam Mitchell's Conscience says:
12, 30, same difference

Apr.10 at 2:37 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Can’t wait for hothead Amare to be thrown out of a playoff game again so all the conspiracy theorist Suns fans can claim they were “cheated” out of another championship. Shaq can pour the whine this time.

Apr.10 at 2:46 pm

RV says:
i can totally see Shaq getting thrown out this time, although he’s been solid lately, i think he still will quit on the team when/if things get rough..

Apr.10 at 2:50 pm

andacagar says:
That’s just a 6′ 10″ man-beast overeacting to some babysh*t that happends on an every play basis.

Apr.10 at 2:56 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Thanks Mr. Bengtson. I thought I was the only person on this planet that thought Nash over-reacted to Horry’s shoulder. Which in turn made Amare over-react to Nash’s flop. I am happy to see Shaq putting up double-doubles.

Apr.10 at 3:08 pm

Adrian Zapata says:
The Suns may have brought shaq in but the suns will always be cry babies. Nash practically threw himself to the ground when Horry bumped him and Amare is just a cry baby.

Apr.10 at 3:15 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
I’d like to see the ‘08 Suns play the ‘89 Pistons.

Apr.10 at 3:23 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Only Raja would survive… until he got a fast break :)

Apr.10 at 3:33 pm

daniel says:
damn im plain sick of bruce bowen. this guys only been suspended like once in his career? got to play 500 straight games? and other people get suspended for accidental smacks to the face like kenyon martin?

Apr.10 at 4:00 pm

J-Bird says:
Bowens such a b*tch

Apr.10 at 5:00 pm

The Biz says:
looks like he got hit in his family jewels while setting the pick nothing dirty about that

Apr.10 at 5:05 pm

Sarah says:
Are you kidding me? Amare overreacted.. as usual

Apr.10 at 5:49 pm

Darksaber says:
i DETEST the Bowen collector, like you’d hate having blisters on every toe. But even i can see that Amare is overreacting here, even if he caught part of Bowen’s arm in his nutz. That said, i do get the anger, first thing i wanted to do last time that happened to me in practice was murder the guy and his family. then the feeling came back down there and i became a human being again.

Apr.10 at 5:52 pm

Bro. D. says:
Couldn’t tell but it was Amare’s fault for not flooring Bowen IMO.

Apr.10 at 6:41 pm

The Promise says:
somebody needs 2 mop the floor with this chump…if he got sucker punched he would stop his cheap shots…i cant wait to see that…

Apr.10 at 6:59 pm

Jukai says:
Man, I hate this lot of people. The whole “WAH WAH I WANT THE (70s or 90s) BACK!” Specifically, the Spacejam lot who claim they know old basketball yet never mention ANY remote fact to back this claim up (googling information is hard when you are 12) or Solito, who will say things like “OH LAIMBEER WOULD DO THIS ALL THE TIME” and neglects to mention the fact that he was one of the most hated players in basketball at the time, and was thrown out of a shocking amount of games for starting fights. If someone throws an elbow at me during a game, the next possession I’m driving at him knees first and taking him out. Or getting beat up. Regardless, yes, this was not the worst thing Bowen could do. It’s also not remotely the worst thing Bowen has done. Funny how when he kicks Chris Paul in the face, everyone is crying about how much they hate Bowen, but when he elbows someone and takes the wind out of him, “WE WANT THE (70s or 90s) BACK!!!!!!!”

Apr.10 at 7:00 pm

Jukai says:
BUT when Detroit/New York/Denver/Indiana get into huge brawls because of tough play, it’s a shame and a disgrace to basketball. Also Ken H should be put to death/banned from Slam.

Apr.10 at 7:20 pm

Cameron says:
definitly clean play

Apr.10 at 9:28 pm

Jake says:
i thought when someone sets a screen, the general idea is that they will be run into and that it is the screeners responsibility to protect himself

Apr.10 at 9:33 pm

tealish says:
haha, Amare is such a douche. Bowen is dirty 9 controversies out of 10, but that was absolutely nothing. What a waste of a click.

Apr.10 at 9:55 pm

Gerard Himself says:
NOT a dirty foul.

Apr.10 at 11:09 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Lol, Jukai your super emotional.

Apr.10 at 11:21 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
I’m sure your an EXCELLENT student of the game. Very intellegent and observing. The fastbreak punching comment was a joke in the first place/ Yes, Amare overreacted. (If it wasn’t Bowen, that wouldn’t have meant anything)/ and your letting your emotions get the best of you. LOL, You’ve said WAY too much already.

Apr.10 at 11:24 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
LOL, WAY too much Jukai. LOL

Apr.11 at 12:34 am

jhurst says:
dirty/over reaction

Apr.11 at 2:12 am

Solito says:
Fill your prescribtion Jukai :) You do have a point though. Nah, I don’t want the 90′ back. I paid $60 back then for a ticket to watch the knicks; ended in the low 70’s with them winning (Yawn! The garden was quiet, except for the ocasional roar when Pat threw one down). I prefere the 120 PPG Teams of today. But if Bowen is the enforcer on the Spurs… times do change.

Apr.11 at 3:52 am

Jukai says:
Saying I wish Ken H should die is not showing too much emotion. Too little, really. Though since both of you seem to agree with me, there’s really no need to continue my anger management rant.

Apr.11 at 3:57 am

Jukai says:
I think the problem with the late 80s/early 90s is that people saw Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Larry Bird… all these great players that made the game EXCITING. And they automatically think “wow, if the game was tougher… it will be back to the good ol’ golden days!” not realizing that it was the players that made the game enjoyable. I mean, I’ve watched some hardwood classic games from the 70s, which was suppose to be the WORST, ROUGHEST TIME in NBA history… and those games were pretty boring. Every team was the San Antonio Spurs, minus Ginobli, Parker, and excitement. Sure, seeing Kareem sucker punch a low level power forward in the face is exciting, but the games sure weren’t. Then again, what do I know, the guy named “Spaceship Jay” who uses the term LOL disagrees with me.

Apr.11 at 5:42 am

Solito says:
I think that todays “new breed” of players have a huge upside, not only skill wise, but character as well. This is can be attributed to the coaches and GM’s made up of great roll players on champinoship teams (from the 80/90), who know the game, and can teach the game. Ocasionally their will be a youth/overdrive vs. veteran/savyness. But the old gladiator ways had a certain swagger to it, too. When teams would talk trash and get in to scuffles before tip offs. It had its moments.

Apr.11 at 12:40 pm

eyehatedirk says:
People that can’t let go of the past become bitter and never grow as people. They just bum around wishing the past was the present, much like a 28 year old “high school football star” still wearing his varsity letter jacket when he goes to the bar to “pick up chicks” or whatever. That being said, Bruce Bowen is still a dirty player.

Apr.11 at 4:32 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Where did I ever say that I disagreed with you, Emotiakai? Since your so horrible @ assumimg AND so quick to anger at the same time (women’s traits??? hmmmm..) What I’ve been saying all along is that I’ve seen A LOT worse. We all know Bruce Bowen is dirty. No one wants the 80’s/90’s back. LOL, Emotiakai.

Apr.16 at 10:27 am

hello says:
Amare plays 30+ mpg and gets hit alot like every other big man. Point is Bowen didn’t make a _basketball_ play, he made another _dirty_ play, and that’s what pissed him off.
