Big games this past weekend for Golden State, Dallas and Denver and it only continues this week and onward. Those three are stuck in a three-way tie for the final two playoff spots in the West and after the Warriors found a way to win against Dallas last night, the two are facing off again Wednesday night on ESPN. Mark it down, this is a must see.
One of my favorite guys came up big last night for the Warriors. Not Jax, but Kelenna Azubuike. Buike played a team-high 44 minutes and finished with 15 points, answering the Mavericks every time they cut into the lead in the fourth. From Kentucky to the D-League to Golden State, it looks like he has found where he belongs.
Crazy game between the two teams. Jason Kidd and his horrible shot somehow manages to knock down three after three when it matters and finished one rebound short of a triple-double. Josh Howard has been on a tear since Dirk went down and he finished with 36 last night and Brandon Bass looked great for the Mavs as well, scoring 21 points in his 25 minutes off of the bench.
After the Nuggets grabbed the victory against Golden State on Saturday night, they move into the final playoff spot and the remaining schedules for each team come into play. The Warriors have a tough stretch coming up, facing San Antonio, Dallas, Memphis and New Orleans all on the road. Al Harrington said in his postgame interview that they feel the need to go 4-0 on the trip, but those are some hefty expectations. We shall see. I’m definitely pulling for them because the most exciting team in the league needs to be there for playoffs.
Kobe Bryant and his 53 against Memphis was pretty but the loss was so very ugly. They managed to escape with the victory last night against the Wizards but it took an overtime before they could close them out.
And, what is with Nick Young going all Stephen Curry on my team last night? I have been talking this kid up all season and this is my reward, pouring 27 on the Lakers and almost stealing the show in the fourth quarter and overtime. The kid was looking nice last night. Must have been fun for him to put on a show in front of his friends and family.
Caron is back and looking like he is in fine form, grabbing the triple-double against the Lakers. That has got to feel good against his former team. DeShawn Stevenson was feeling fine as well, knocking down 8-12 three-pointers as the Lakers could not cool him down one bit.
After stumbling against the Celtics on Friday night, Paul and crew were back to business as usual against the Raptors yesterday. David West surprises me with every great game he has, even though he has been having them all season. He’s just so efficient and quietly kills you. Looking down at the statsheet and he’s got 30, 35 without you even realizing it.
I wasn’t so hot on Morris Peterson hopping down to kiss the Toronto court. I know, I know, Ivy may have saw MJ do it in Chicago, but he and MJ are on a different page than Peterson. I still like him though and I’m happy he has fit in well in New Orleans. Seeing him toss his jersey to a kid wearing his Toronto one was sweet, the kid was so fired up he looked like he had just hit the game-winning shot for the championship.
Has everyone realized that the Celtics have 58 victories already? I’ve been so focused in on the Western Conference race that I definitely did not notice that one.
Amare is continuing to dominate offensively for the Suns. Seems Phoenix has died down in the media these past few weeks, but Amare is making sure his opponents feel his presence.
And, Kenyon Martin? 30 points from him in the Denver victory over Golden State Saturday night. His jumper was looking really nice and I was surprised with each shot that dropped. Always nice to see him play well.
Speaking of big games, after the Grizzlies won against the Lakers, they were looking to drop the Clippers and may have, had it not been for rookie Al Thornton. Thornton got to work and dropped in 39 points against Memphis Saturday night, including 20 in the fourth quarter alone.
Who wasn’t rooting for Davidson to win again yesterday? Brackets aside, their run through the tourney has been so much fun to watch. It was cool seeing Bron at the game and all of the Davidson people in their Witness T-shirts. I am such a sucker for all things NCAA. I really wanted Texas to pull out the victory against Memphis but it wasn’t to be.
All weekend I was flipping between NBA and NCAA games. It doesn’t get any better than that. I love this game.
Denver 119 Golden State 112
For Denver, the road to the playoffs is through Golden State or Dallas. Knowing if they want to make it to the post season they will have to take out one of these two teams, and their match up between the Warriors on Saturday night was a must win for them. The Nuggets were able to take care of business and use a strong third quarter to drop Golden State 119-112. With the score close throughout and Allen Iverson struggling from the floor, the difference maker for Denver was Kenyon Martin. He finished with a season-high 30 points and had an answer every time the Warriors closed in on them. After Denver had led by as many as 12 points, the Warriors used a strong effort early in the third quarter to come back and take the lead before Denver’s bench got involved and shut down the Golden State offense for over six minutes. By the time the Warriors had ended their scoring drought, the Nuggets had scored 15 straight to take the lead into the fourth quarter where they hung on despite Golden State cutting the lead down to three with three minutes remaining. Martin finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds for the Nuggets while Carmelo Anthony had 25 points. JR Smith scored 20 points off of the bench to go with 7 assists, Iverson finished with 14 points and 8 assists and Marcus Camby added 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocked shots. Baron Davis led Golden Sate with 28 points and 7 assists while Stephen Jackson had 25 points, Monta Ellis scored 22 points and Andris Biedrins added 17 points and 17 rebounds.
Detroit 85 Cleveland 71
One game after the Pistons had clinched the Central division title, they came out and sent a message to LeBron James and the Cavaliers. If the two teams meet in the playoffs again this year, it will be an uphill battle for James and every game between the two will not be like the blowout the Cav’s put on Detroit earlier this month. After the Pistons led 29-18 at the end of the first quarter the Cavaliers found themselves playing catch up the rest of the way as they would never lead in the contest while Detroit ended up taking away the 85-71 victory. While Daniel Gibson returned for Cleveland, they were without Ben Wallace and Delonte West and they could not overcome the Pistons who held them to only 36% shooting. Richard Hamilton returned to the Detroit lineup and led the way defensively on James. By halftime the Detroit lead had swelled to 49-33 and it only got worse from there as they went ahead by as many as 25 points in the second half where the Cavaliers did not appear to put up much of a fight. Hamilton led Detroit with 14 points as Chauncey Bullups and Jason Maxiell scored 13 points apiece and Antonio McDyess added 12 points and 10 rebounds. James was held to only 13 points on 4-17 field goals for the Cavaliers. Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Devin Brown each scored 11 points and Joe Smith added 10 in the loss.
Boston 112 New Orleans 92
In a match up between the top teams in each conference things remained close until the third quarter where the Celtics showed they not only lead the Eastern Conference, they lead the NBA. After a loss to the Hornets only a week ago, they wanted this victory badly and Kevin Garnett led the way through defensive intensity, setting the tone for his team and leading them to the win. After New Orleans led 60-56 at the break, the Celtics came out focused in the third and outscored the Hornets 32-15, piecing together a 19-5 run to keep them ahead by double-digits at the start of the fourth. The Celtics shot 69% in the third quarter and finished 59% from the game while the Hornets came in at 43%. At the start of the fourth the Celtics led 88-75, and went on to outscore the Hornets 24-17 in the period going ahead by as many as 22 points before New Orleans would cut the deficit. Boston was led by Paul Pierce who had 27 points and 9 assists on the evening. Kevin Garnett had 21 points and 13 rebounds and Rajon Rondo showed up big playing opposite Chris Paul, added 17 points. Ray Allen and Leon Powe each scored 12 points for the Celtics. Paul finished with 22 points and 10 assists for New Orleans while Peja Stojakovic scored 17 and David West had 14 in the loss.
San Antonio 109 Houston 88
After the Rockets had won two games in a row they came to San Antonio looking to extend that streak but were quickly turned away. When the Rockets had taken an early three point lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter the Spurs took over and did not let up, routing Houston 109-88 Sunday afternoon. Trailing by 11 at the end of the first quarter, things only went downhill for Houston as the Spurs outscored them 31-24 in the second period and set a season-high for points in a half, leading 66-48. The second half was more of the same as San Antonio continued to pour it on offensively, while holding Houston to only 40% shooting in the game as they connected on 53% of their own shots. The Houston offense was stagnant, as evidenced by their 12 team assists for the game. In comparison, San Antonio had 21 team assists as they went ahead by as many as 25 points in the game. With the victory, the Spurs became the top seed in the Western Conference and the first team in the Conference to reach 51 victories. Both the LA Lakers and New Orleans Hornets are on their heels, each with 50 victories in the crowed Western Conference playoff race. Michael Finley and Tony Parker each scored 22 points for San Antonio while Manu Ginobili scored 14 and Tim Duncan added 13. Luis Scola led the Rockets with 24 points. Tracy McGrady and Rafer Alston scored 13 points apiece for Houston and Luther Head added 10.
LA Lakers 126 Washington 120 OT
After dropping their last two games to clubs with losing records, the Lakers knew they needed the victory against the Wizards. Problem was, Washington needed the win against LA and the two teams battled it out with the game going into overtime before the Lakers could stomp out Washington, 126-120. One game after Kobe Bryant scored 53 points in a loss against the Grizzlies he was content to set his teammates up early and then score late, adding six points in the overtime period where he was needed most. While the Lakers led 58-47 at the break, the Wizards came storming into the third quarter and dropped 39 points on LA in the period, tying the game at 86 going into the fourth. In the fourth it was the Nick Young show, as the rookie from USC came up time and time again for the Wizards. Young finished with a career-high 27 points and propelled the Wizards late in the fourth, helping to force overtime on a three-pointer by Caron Butler. In the extra session however, his youth showed as he turned the ball over late, leading to Bryant being sent to the line where he made three consecutive free throws to give LA a one point lead. A Young miss followed up by free throws from Sasha Vujacic was enough to keep LA ahead. Bryant finished with 26 points and 13 assists for the Lakers. Vladamir Radmanovic scored 18 points, Vujacic had 20 points and Luke Walton added 19. Lamar Odom had 10 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Derek Fisher scored 17. Young and DeShawn Stevenson each had 27 for the Wizards. Stevenson shot 9-15 from the floor, including 8-12 from beyond the arc. Butler finished with a triple-double, scoring 17 points, dishing 12 assists and grabbing 12 boards. Antawn Jamison also scored 17 points, to go with 9 rebounds and Brendan Haywood added 10 points.

Morning Holly. Kobe messed up my string of 50’s. At least they squeaked the win. They loaded with home games too, right? Any word on Pau’s return or Bynums?

Logan says:
hey H, great round up as usual….LA got #50 a game late but no problem. The team looks tired and injuries are piling up with DFish hurting his foot….i just hope LA can come together before the playoffs begin….the 53 was ridiculous and people jump on Kobe for all those shots…if Lamar would have hit the 3 no one would dog on him…anyway….next up is Portland

Logan says:
and Dallas this week. As Phil put it, they will need 57 wins to finish on top of the conf….I hope Denver makes it cause its always great to see AI in the playoffs

And Miami scores 62 points. Wow.

Holly MacKenzie says:
Russ and his stars are going to be looking good! haha Can’t wait to see it. E, Pau practiced on Sunday but was still sore. I’d say he might suit up for Wednesday’s game? Andrew will be going on the road trip this week, that is great news. Also, the courtside reporter said during the game that Gil would take a paycut if the Wiz re-sign Jamison. Thought that was very interesting.

Holly MacKenzie says:
And, DFish with a torn tendon in his foot. It just doesn’t stop for LA this season. Logan, Lamar was ridiculously sick Saturday night and wouldn’t have played in the game had they had more bodies available. I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere, but my guy who was in the locker room said he was really under the weather.
Mar.31 at 9:10 am
Logan says:
yeah i heard about it so considering that he played really well and showed a lot of heart in the game….i just hope this Laker team can stay healthy…..someone or the other is always injured….

Fish saved the Lakers down in the clutch. He’s so professional and intense. These Lakers are warriors.

By the way, the Heat only have nine wins, does anyone think they will win another?
Mar.31 at 9:15 am

yeah getting Fish back to LA was an awesome move….he has been the X factor this season

Ryne: The Heat have 13 wins.

Rynocerous, you fu*ker, the Heat are horrid, but not that terrible, I think they have 13 wins.

Holly MacKenzie says:
Did anyone watch Denver and Golden State? Holy Kenyon Martin! Baron was fired up in that game, too. I liked the announcers who said how other players get so angry at non-calls and then you look at a player like AI who gets knocked down every trip to the basket and barely ever complains, just hops back up and does it again.

I totally missed that game Holly. I forgot Kenyon was a former #1 overall pick and was/is pretty good. Glad to see Denver back in the playoff hunt. Now somerone just needs to finish off the Dirk-less Mavs and i’ll be happy.

Holly, KMart was en fuego against the Warriors. Three-way tie for 7, 8, 9 in the West. And Denver is playing the best basketball right now.
Mar.31 at 9:22 am

I did really enjoy seeing Bron at the game though. I’m a sucker. Tad, he was fantastic. And yes, Dallas needs to go down. They’ve got some easy games coming up though, dammit.
yeah, Tad, I was smiling for you!

oh reminded me of the KMart of old….back in his Jersey days…great game for Denver…its tough to have more energy than GS but thats exactly what Denver did

Nice work H. Good morning peoples!
Not to be a wiseazz but anyone remember me being murdered on here Friday for saying that Rondo matches up nicely with Paul, don’t look so stupid now ehh?
The GSW-Mavs-Nuggs-race is great - really looking forward to following that in the coming weeks. Kevin Love is good, so is Derrick Rose. The latter will be the better NBA-player IMO.
Mar.31 at 9:25 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
And Kelenna was fantastic last night! I was so happy for him.

heh that game was awesome….loved it. the playoffs are going to be intense. I dont remember being so excited to watch the nba playoffs for a long time….

Holly, I check out the Post-Up as often as I can, and notice you have a lot of favourite players (well, players you talk up, or enjoy watching) but I was just wondering which players you are not such a fan of? Personally, I dislike Billups, Arenas, and I’m not too sweet on Wade either.
Mar.31 at 9:26 am
Ryne Nelson says:
LZ - I concur Derrick Rose will be a much more valuable NBA player than Love.
Mar.31 at 9:26 am

Thanks, LZ, I was thinking of YOU during the Boston game… and scowling. haha Damn Rondo. He’s been balling all year though, surprising everyone. Rose was great, really fun to watch.

LZ: I know everyone has short memories and keeps looking at last years playoffs, but Detroit is 2-1 against the Cavs this season. Not sure they “finally” stepped up. These two teams always play it close. And yes, Derrick Rose was the best player over the weekend, IMO. He made Augustin look terrible yesterday.

Eboy says:
Tyler Hansborough.
Mar.31 at 9:32 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
Squirrel, hahahah I knowww, I love this game too much. Um, Young and Kenyon aren’t really favorites, I just love Young’s potential and Kenyon, well you cant argue against someone who has come back from surgeries and injuries like he has. Players I don’t like.. Loved to hate Reggie, Paul Pierce kind of drives me crazy, Billups because of LA, Dirk because he plays so damn soft sometimes, Shaq because he doesn’t respect the game enough (in MY opinion), Kidd because he ditched out on NJ (again in MY opinion). I don’t really like Richard Jefferson even though he is talented… I don’t know, I’ll have to get back to you on that!
Mar.31 at 9:33 am
Lz - Cphfinest3 says:
Hehe nice to know Holly, I’m very impressed by Rose (and Love to a lesser extent, still think he’ll have trouble against the athlethic NBA-bigs) he’s game seems very mature. Sholud be second pick after Beasley.
Mar.31 at 9:34 am
Ryne Nelson says:
Can I ask this here? What do you think of Stehpen Curry saying he’s going for another year? Shouldn’t he take advantage of the hype? Example - When Illinois played in the National Championship in 2005, Dee Brown would have been a first-round pick. They had a lot of hype. Brown had a minor injury at pre-draft camp and withdrew. He then went 46th overall the next year, and is out of the League.
Mar.31 at 9:36 am
Squirrel7 says:
Yeah, can’t believe I left Shaq off my list! And Dirk too, I think he might go down as the worst MVP of all-time. Personally, I’m all for the quiet, unassuming players who shun the limelight, like Bosh, CP3, Deng etc. Plus some crazy athleticism (ie. Crash, Josh Smith) is always good.
Mar.31 at 9:36 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
E, you know I have been on the Buike train all year! Nick Young too. Damn kid giving me a heart attack last night! Caron was fantastic, as was DeShawn and those freaking three-pointers.
Mar.31 at 9:37 am
Eboy says:
It’s the smart move on Stephen’s part. And I’m sure Dell’s influence to be “ready ready” is big. Dell was a consumate pro. I’m sure he’d like his son to be the same regardless of where he winds up.
Mar.31 at 9:38 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
I think it’s a good decision for Curry to stay. Maybe he can get stronger physically? He’s a small guy. I don’t see his shot suddenly disappearing and injuries can happen at any point and time. It’s not like he needs to make the L for financial reasons, so I think it’s pretty cool that he’s taking advantage of the situation he’s got going at Davidson.
Mar.31 at 9:38 am
Eboy says:
I know Holly, but this is one of the few times he actually got some strong game work to back up his eyelash gimmick.
Mar.31 at 9:39 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
I also liked what he said in regards to Bron watching him. Along the lines of, “It was cool that he was here, sure, but I play for myself and my family”. He’s got his head on right.
Mar.31 at 9:39 am
Lz - Cphfinest3 says:
TAD, They sure always play it close - was referring to them stopping LeBron, as I remember (correct me if I’m wrong) that hasen’t happened the last couple of years. Must give them added confidence going into an eventual playoffs series.
Mar.31 at 9:42 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
Yeah, yeah Buike is solid. I’m happy he got some serious minutes last night. That big three of Monta, Baron and Jax is something else. I don’t think I will ever be able to watch Monta without my mouth dropping at some of the things he does.
Mar.31 at 9:43 am
Ryne Nelson says:
Holly, what’s to dislike about RJ? He’s a great guy!
Mar.31 at 9:43 am
Squirrel7 says:
As much as I love the Warriors, am I the only one constantly frustrated by Nelson’s misuse of Al Harrington? The guy has all the tools to be a major threat (not so sure about his attitude though), and yet he doesn’t seem to be utilized very effectively in the Warriors’ rotation.
Mar.31 at 9:44 am
Lz - Cphfinest3 says:
I think Curry should jump to the league now, he can learn and improve (and bulk up - very needed) just as much sitting on the bench for the X NBA-team as in David-town, it’s not like they are gonna win a national championship anyways. Use the hype young man.
Mar.31 at 9:47 am
Ryne Nelson says:
@LZ - It’s not like Davidson is going to Elite 8 again, either.
Mar.31 at 9:49 am
TADOne says:
LZ: Give me a team, any team, that Bron doesn’t show up big against for his Cavs to win? Thing is, Detroit usually employs just 1 defender on Bron, covers everyone else, lets him get his, and usually they come out on top. This last game they stuck Rip on him, let Tay and Sheed flash some double teams, then backed off and clogged the lane. They challenged the Cavs to beat them deep, and the Cavs couldn’t. Flip used this to respond from the game a week before that. They are still learning how to play the “new look” Cavs.
Mar.31 at 9:49 am
Holly MacKenzie says:
Harrington sprained his thumb really badly against the Nuggets. He played okay last night but he originally thought he had broken it. I agree that he needs to be out there more, or more effective in his minutes. When he starts jacking three’s it always makes me nervous though. Anyone read about JR Rider being arrested for driving in a stolen car? Rough times, yeesh.
Mar.31 at 9:52 am
TADOne says:
Ya’ll need to calm down. Curry isn’t going anywhere, nor should he. He is a 6′1, if that, shooting guard. There aren’t too many of them in the league. He can shoot, but his dribble drive game is not where it should be. If you want to assess Curry’s NBA potential, look at the last possession against Kansas. They stuck two long defenders on him and he couldn’t create or get open for a shot. What do you think will happen in the NBA?

I don’t understand how people can think Curry is ready for the NBA, when the only part of his game that is NBA-ready is his shot. Last time I checked, that was all JJ Redick had going for him when he left Duke, and how’s that working out?!

My point entirely Squirrel.

Morning all……..Lakers need Ariza back desperately, all these wing players are just murdering LA, Deshawn, 8/12 on 3’s, are you serious, that stuff can’t happen this late into the season. Saw Stephen Curry play for the 1st time yesterday, he had a tough night, but damn……kid has a lightning quick release, glad he’s staying one more year, stay healthy and get more experience, he’ll be a great lottery pick next year….and G-state and Denver all the way, F*ck the Mavs

TAD, LeBron destroys everybody - not the point. Why so defensive? Was just simply congratulating ur team for hanging with him the other night (reread my 9:27 comment was not saying anything about Pistons “stepping up” as in them vs. Cavs, was referring to them stopping LeBrons exploits against them.) BTW we both know that single cover plan goes out the window in the playoffs - last year he was basically playing (and beating) Pistons 1 on 5.

Tad, I do remember Curry playing, I just meant he was a gun, and not much else. Speaking of old streaky Raptors, wants Tracy Murray up to nowadays? And on the subject of Lebron, is his arrogance (admittedly well-placed) beginning to grate on anyone else?
Mar.31 at 10:11 am
TADOne says:
Sorry LZ, wasn’t trying to be defensive, I’m just a little cranky in the morning is all. I guess I’m so used to defending my boys all the time is all. Bottom line, I feel that if we play our game, there is no way the Cavs can beat us. I’m quite sure i’ll get flamed for that last comment.

NB, I can’t speak for everyone else, but I just find Dallas’ brand of basketball boring, even since acquiring Kidd. Plus I find Mark Cuban to be something of a douche!

The Nuggets also own the tiebreakers with Dallas and Golden State. They have a better coference record than the Warriors and when the beat Dallas on Thursday it gave them the tiebreaker against them.

Lz - Cphfinest3 says:
Cool cool TAD, and you should now that even though they’re not my boys, I like your boys. If your boys play the way they can (and James doesn’t pull some Mike-inspired other-level stuff) they should be just fine against Cavs. NB; I like Dirk. It’s his nerve-system I despise.
Mar.31 at 10:24 am

Yeah, Candice, Denver is taking care of business. Those tie-breakers may end up being what decides it. Crazy, crazy West.

Still think he could be a lottery pick if he has another outstanding season next year. BTW, I posted a link that’s in moderation, but while Shawn Respert may have been a bust, he also was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 (and kept it a secret from everyone). Height wasn’t his only challenge.

RV says:
Curry’s in a tough spot right now, if he enters the draft, the hype will get him a good position, but he’ll be eaten alive in the league and sometimes guys can’t make it back. If he stays, he’s going to be the focus of a lot more double teams next year, which can have two results. He either won’t adjust, have an ok season and poor draft status, OR, he can improve his game, learn from it and come out better. i think he’ll adjust, he’s got the brains and support to do it. He’s got great patience and great timing on his shot attempt, he just needs to work on getting open off of picks
Mar.31 at 12:08 pm
RV says:
and i think Davidson’s biggest mistake was having Curry get the ball so early on that last posession, it allowed the D to focus on him and double early, i dont think him not being able to get off a shot should be a knock on him because Wade, Kobe, Tmac, etc, would have passed most of the time in that situation. they should have waited and gave it to him off a pick for him to catch and shoot.
Mar.31 at 12:18 pm

seeing that BET and DP had been talking to themselves for the past 50 posts, i just want to say a few things before i start doing the same.
- was at the warriors/mavs game yesterday. the pace was unbelievably broken. even though i don’t think most people’d doubt warriors would come out on top, the mavs did a pretty good job not letting the warriors run wild. the mavs closed it to a 4 point game with about 3-4 minutes to go but thankfully warriors buckled down and finished them off.
azubuike was instrumental in the game. dallas was leading 12-0 in the beginning and his energy was what got the Dubs back into the game. azubuike is this year’s matt barnes, the energy guy who makes all the right plays and stays within his game.
- watched the warriors/nuggets game also. grand kenyon destroyed warriors’ non-existing front court. if only he learns a few post moves and refine his jump shot, he’d be amare-lite. nuggets have no answer for baron (not many teams do), but warriors can’t handle nuggets’ huge athletic front line either.
Mar.31 at 1:09 pm
Michael says:
Lebon had his sesond off game of the enitre year on Saturday. Pretty Spectacular. The Lakers right now are actually a worst team than they were the previous two seasons. Cause at least they had Kwame, who may have sucked but he was still a 7 footer with a big body who coud provide some sort of defense in the middle. Now they have zero inside presense, plus they have hoeeible mismatches at the Sf and Pg position. How in the hell is Vlad Rad suposes to gaurd the Small forwards in the west.
Mar.31 at 1:39 pm
Tom says:
Michael: I think the lakers problem seems to be pick n’ roll defense……the wing players are just killing them, stevenson and young yesterday, gay in memphis…some one has to man up and play some D for them to be serious in the playoffs
Mar.31 at 1:45 pm
Michael says:
The lakers haven’t been able to play pick N’ Roll defense in about 20 years, and i don’t see it changing now. When fully healthy the lakers were actualy a pretty good defensive team, they were third in opponets fg%. They just have to wait for Bynum to come back to give them that intimidating force in the middle.

I hit up the game Saturday night with Golden State. Place was live, great win for the home side and positive prospects for an unbelievebale postseason.
I have game notes, but I just really gotta gas Kenyon Martin and JR Smith. When these two bring their “Positive” energy, watch out.
I love the Warriors too and in a game where they shot just 40%from the field and pretty damn poorly from long-range, they still had a chance on the road, late in the game against one of the league’s best and hottest home teams.

Last year, they were undeniably the best team in the L. Now, people aren’r even making a big deal of the fact they might miss the playoffs. This is probably due to the fiasco of the first round last year, but still. No-one has retired. The trade has been made, but dallas lost no1 that will have such a large impact on the team. Dirk’s only just been injured. Why the fall-off is what people should be asking!
