they should have a new shooting contest to see who can get the most shots up during an actual game, now kobe would def. win that one.

mamadou n'diaye says:
never thought i’d see rip hamilton in the 3pt shootout
Feb.6 at 5:46 pm
Mike C says:
Kobe would have a much higher 3pt shooting percentage if he didn’t have to take so many of them with the clock running out. Seriously, nobody, I mean nobody takes more fadeway 3s to beat the shot clock than Kobe.
Feb.6 at 5:46 pm
Reggie Evans says:
@Myles - how did MJ do?
Feb.6 at 5:49 pm

I love it, hard to bet against Nash…too bad Gilbertology isn’t in it. But Kobe stepping up in a tourney where he’ll probably lose is pretty cool.
Is anybody happier than Kobe right now? Did anybody see the game last night? Gasol was showed range, touch, good hands and heart…in his first game with the Lake Show. The rest of the league is definitely on notice. Lakes are the fav for the crown in my opinion. (and i’m a Wizards fan)

No one from the Magic made the competition? Huh?

Feb.6 at 6:53 pm
Krayzie Bone says:
It should be easy, just pick the top 6 guys in the league with some sort of minimum in attempts. Of course that would mean 2 raptors at least, or 3 if Calderon’s percentage keeps rising.
Feb.6 at 7:22 pm
Reggie Evans says:
They should invite retired NBA players to the three point shoot out. The gym rats just get better with age.

I dont see how you can overlook Kapono..the defending champ..I also think that Anthony Parker got snubbed…but then again that seems to be the trend as of late when the front of your jersey reads RAPTORS…ridiculous

Richard Hamilton is tied for 89th in the league in made 3pointers - why the hell is he in this competition. Both Rasheed and Chauncy have made more 3s than him. Weird, weird day.

It’s not percentage…Kobe is at a 34% clip…. Thats close to woeful.
What about attempts?? Baron Davis would be in if that was the case..
Feb.6 at 8:44 pm
crazylee12 says:
Easy now, jdubbs, an off-base comment like that could garner you a stern talking-to!
To say that all raptors players are weak is like saying the Knicks are gonna sweep the playoffs. Do you have any facts that may substantiate(see: support) your claims?
-Joseeee Calderrron: Has/had the best assist/turnover ratio in the league, and he’s a PG that touches the ball on almost every possession!
-CB4: need I say more?
Whether you’re a fan of the Raptors or not, they’re one of the deepest teams in the Association and have the talent to do some major damage in the East.
Feb.6 at 9:21 pm
Krayzie Bone says:
Most of the participants are there based on percentage. Kobe is there because he is who he is.
Feb.6 at 9:34 pm
ion mic says:
You know i think ive realised why Kobe appears so arrogant and is disliked by most fans i know.
I truly think in his mind as far as other players go there is only one he truly competes with and that is the accomplishments of one Michael Jordan. I think that fuels always wearing one jersey number higher than MJ 24 and 10 and i think it is also the reason why kobe would do the 3 point cos MJ did it so he has to do but better which leads me to the point Why doesnt Kobe enter the dunk champs???
Feb.6 at 9:57 pm
Bryant Reeves says:
Kobe already won a dunk championship ion mic - 1997. Been there, done that
Feb.6 at 10:32 pm
Holly MacKenzie says:
Kobe needs to bow out and heal that finger. He’s not going to be winning anything if he cant hit a shot!!
Feb.6 at 10:52 pm
Jess says:
well said crazylee12. I hate it when you get ignorant comments from people who obviously know nothing about the topic (see:jdubbs). The Raps dont get the respect that they deserve. People need to realize that they are a legit team in the East.
RV says:
Rip doesnt shoot quick enough to win it, and kobe elevates too much on his shot so he won’t put up enough to win. This contest was made for guys with no hang time with set shots…except Ray, and Q was a fluke..

Krayzie Bone says:
As a toronto resident, and fan, no one in the east deserves anything but scorn unless their names are detroit, boston or maybe orlando. Toronto isn’t that good (they’re not horrible either), we just seem to tread water. If we were in the west, with our record, we would be in 11th right now.
Feb.7 at 12:24 am
Krayzie Bone says:
Kobe isn’t better than Jordan, based on a comparison of their stats or championships. That doesn’t mean Kobe isn’t right up there if you talk about his skills, but you have to be able to shoot above 50% from the field and hit above 30 points at the guard position before you start talking about 23 (not to mention winning). Lebron has a chance to do it perhaps, but Kobe is now on the skills side of his career, rather than athleticism, and while i respect his game, he’s not Jordan.
Feb.7 at 1:09 am

I would love it if Kobe sat out because of the finger and let Vujacic in there…..he’s built for events like these.

Sorry, just couldn’t resist the snarky raptors comment. From what i’ve seen they’ve got some nice pieces, but they are soft soft soft and probably won’t make any noise come playoff time. Not with the Lebronairres, Boston 3party, Detroit! Basketball! ahead of them. Even the Magic and Wiz (with a healthy Gil and Butler) are better than the Raptors…sorry, y’all are WEAK…i do like CB4 though.
