KG out of ASG; ‘Sheed (Predictably) Unhappy
Kevin Garnett’s abdominal muscle strain will keep him out of next weekend’s All-Star Game, and Rasheed Wallace has been named as his replacement. Rasheed, predictably, isn’t thrilled with the news.
A couple of weeks ago, ‘Sheed let his disdain for the mid-season classic be known, and when told of his invite to this season’s hoopla (which wipes out a vacation Wallace had planned with his family), he was … well, ‘Sheed:
“This time I’ll go for the kids,” Wallace said. “I guess once I get older or out of the game, they can look back on it and check it out.”
Sarcastically, he added, “It’s a huge honor; it’s a great pleasure. That’s about it.”
I love the sarcasm. Though, I’m sure, David Stern doesn’t feel the same way. He should punish Rasheed by insisting that he play 40 minutes on Sunday.

id be pissed if i had a nice family vacation planned, then one week ahead of said planned vacation, i learn that i have to work, only its not really work, its just a bunch of bs busywork that doesnt really count…if sheed gets two techs and tossed, that would easily be the greatest moment in allstar history, DONT LET ME DOWN SHEED!

I feel bad for Turkoglu, he should be named as KG’s replacement, but okay. The weird thing to me is: the replacement is hand-picked by Stern right? Why the hell did Stern pick Sheed? They aren’t exactly friends, so to speak. Oh well…. Sheed played great against the Cats last night, with an impressive statline of 8 points and 5 boards. Go Sheed!

On talent, stats and value, Sheed is the obvious choice. Thing is he’s already said he doesn’t want to go. And Turkoglu is just as deserving this year, given all he’s done for the Dwight Howard Kingdom. I guess this is more having to do with his comments. If he doesn’t say them, Stern may have gone with Hedo. But because he said “Don’t pick me. I ain’t going” Stern’s gotta show him who’s Don and who decides what.

I love Rasheed Wallace. Him and Allen Iverson are the two players in the entire NBA who just don’t give a damn about what anyone has to say about them (I would have added Ron Artest to that list, but he’s just flat out crazy). LOL!! A lot of people like to act like they don’t care, but Rasheed and Iverson REALLY don’t. When I seen that Rasheed was going to be KG’s replacement for the ASG, I fell out laughing because I knew he didn’t want to go, and sure enough here he is the next day giving us the sarcasm. You gotta love it.

Apparently Rasheed did get ejected from the McDonald’s game. I’m not sure if a player has ever been ejected from the All-Star game on techs, but Red Auerbach was once. Of course.
