Surprise! Pat Riley Denies Talks of Leaving

Riles says it’s the Catholic Irish in him that had him thinking of quitting his head coaching job at the end of the season. Whatever.

Mutoni, I’ve told you more than once that Ira Winderman is a joke. Please listen to someone with their finger on the pulse. Thank you.

He wants to move on to the next big challenge - leading the Knicks to the championship(s?).

Marcel, that’s true, but he also took liberties with the tone of their conversation and made his own conclusion.

With the way the Heat’s season is turning out, slamonline is turning into eboy’s own personal little hell. Yet he keeps coming back. Perhaps he is a member of the Opus Dei?

I like that. I can take it. It’s hot as hell in my world as it is, so what’s a little extra heat. (Good play on words, eboy)

With the way the Lakers imploded at the end of the 04-05 season, I feel for you. From the outside, all people see is the Heat’s record, and the fact that they’ve lost 9 straight. For those on the inside, there are reasons and justfications for all of it. And with Wade, assuming he can at some point get and then stay healthy, the Heat should be fine again within the next couple of years. The odd thing is that the Shaq trade somehow managed to turn out exactly the way that both the Lakers and Heat thought it would and wanted it to. The Heat became instant contenders, and won it all in 2006. The Lakers suffered greatly in the short term, but now aren’t stuck with his massive contract, and are one of the best young teams in the league.

At least you guys had the dominant Shaq. We had a really good Sahq for two seasons, then a mediocre one and now a lost one.

The general consensus, though, is that trading a superstar never works out. In this case, it seems to have worked out for both teams. And as much as I like to bag on the WEE, this season can’t be blamed on him. Riley and Wade’s health are the more deserving culprits.

Eboy, who should we listen to then? Israel down in Jorge Mas Canosa’s favorite newspaper or Chris at the PB Post?

white hot eboy says:
Justin, not Ira, for sure. He’s way to big for his own head, as his hair loss shows, because he show’s up on the Sun Sports telecasts and make’s himself out to be more than what he is, a beat writer. I’d ride with Israel, if I had to choose.

I just wish that Shaq and Wade never got hurt the first year. It would have been a great Finals, that Spurs vs. Heat. I think Miami would have won too.

I agree with Bodie there. Both teams really got what they wanted here. The Heat surely must’ve known that this day will eventually arrive, so it’s their fault that they didnt think of a solution earlier.
