Interest in Kidd Down
A few weeks ago, it appeared as though Jason Kidd already had one foot out the door in Jersey. The Nets were playing terribly, he was miserable, and of course there was the bizarre migraine incident.
According to GM Rod Thorn, League-wide interest in acquiring the ageless point guard (last night, Jason recorded the 14,000th point of his career) isn’t as high as it was earlier this season. Thorn’s phone is no longer ringing off the hook
“They’re going down,” the Nets president admitted last night, with a trace of relief and derision. Because … why? Have they finally caught on that it’s futile to try to steal the Nets point guard?
“Yeah, you could say that,” Thorn replied with a laugh.
I think it’s important to keep in mind that GM’s aren’t affected by the 24-hour news cycle the way fans and observers are; in most cases, no matter how unhappy a superstar may appear one day, he’s probably not going anywhere. The beast, though, must continue to get fed.

i know, they’d be retards to give up Williams at this point.. BUT, it’d be so much fun to see Williams run and gun w/ the Suns.

I refuse to “play wit it” until you start spelling “with” correctly.

As I’ve said on numerous posts, no sane owner is going to sell their star during the season unless or until the team is eliminated from post season.

The Not Cool - Whom should the Lakers give up to get Kidd?
How would he fit in their system? The Lakers need a PG who can play D and hit the open 3 (and Fish and Farmar are doing just fine, especially in comparison to Smush), caused by doubling Kobe and/or Bynum.
How is Kidd, at 34 and making too much $$$, going to guard Nash, Baron, Parker, Williams, and Harris?
As Bynum has proven to be one of the Lakers best players, why would you trade for a player who excels almost exclusively in the open court, when Bynum excels in a half-court game? F-cking yahoo…

Whoa, jbn74sb! Are you KIDDING ME? I get the “who should the Lakers give up” part but…. Kidd still can play defence as well as Fisher (who is as old as kidd) and Farmer can. Kidd might not be able to hit the open three as well, but he’ll be able to make up for it by dealing Kobe more opportunities, and he can get second chance points enough to make threes irrelevant. Jason Kidd would make anyteam in the NBA (except for the Suns) a better team.

Hard Know State, that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Mike James and Steve Francis for Kidd would be really good for both teams.
