Amare the Center

Though it’s not his favorite position to play on floor, Amare Stoudemire has embraced being a center this season.

Does this finally end the argument that Amare is NOT a center?

too bad he can’t defend other big men..

Tenorca says:
…or any size man, really. Is it just me or do you feel Amare getting passed up by Dwight & Jefferson? He better NEVER leave Phoenix. Or follow Nash into retirement.

What strikes me as downright revolting are STAT’s board numbers. There is no way that a guy as talented and physically gifted as him can play 35 minutes a night and average less than 10 boards. It just does not make any sense.

it’s just that amare doesn’t wanna board or play defense. that’s a damn shame, cuz as a young guy, the coach is gonna help mold you. his coach hasn’t helped him do either, so instead, he worked on a 3pt shot in the offseason. defense is a work in progress, and there’s no way they can tell him to just outscore everyone throughout the season and then in the playoffs say, “ok, now let’s get a stop.”

dirk couldn’t play defense worth sh*t when he came in, and he’s no stopper now, but the dude actually worked to become somewhat competent (plays with his hands mainly), and got players around him to cover up. so at the same time, amare’s gonna LOOK worse of a defender when the rest of the team isn’t helping him.

Man, The Matrix hogs all the rebounds

Russ Bengtson says:
STAT’s still averaging three full rebounds more per game than Eddy Curry.

Dec.11 at 6:35 pm

Tenorca says:
Russ: Mike Effing Dunleavy gets more boards a game than Curry. That’s just…well…that’s the amazing NBA.

Dec.11 at 6:40 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
The NBA: Where Eddy Curry barely happens.

Dec.11 at 6:45 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Among other players averaging more boards than EC: Dorell Wright, Hedo Turkoglu, Darko Milicic, Marvin Williams, Kobe Bryant, Mike Miller and Tim freakin’ Thomas.

No Russ, its The NBA:Where Lebron is more Shaq than Baby Shaq

It’s also “The NBA: Where Eddy Curry sprains his ankle walking in practice happens.” Somewhere, David Lee is reading this and crying.

I believed until Amare showed that he can play a bit defense and play leader, The Suns won’t win a championship.

Jukai says:
I don’t care about defense, Amare needs to freain’ dribble

Dec.12 at 2:28 pm

Nguni says:
the suns are a high-octane offense that will only take them as far as the second round of playoffs…great team to watch, but they aint winning no chips, even with amare beasting.

The Suns need a new coach. For real.
