Justin Williams Is Free to Go
About a month ago, a woman accused Sacramento Kings second-year forward Justin Williams and a female friend of his of trying to have sex with her at Williams’s home while she was passed out.
For whatever reason, the story never really grew any legs, and today, it dies: Justin Williams will not be charged with sexual assault.
In a prepared statement Tuesday, District Attorney Jan Scully’s office said a Sacramento police investigation did not find sufficient evidence to warrant criminal charges and that police did not request that charges be filed.
“Having thoroughly reviewed the reports and conducted additional investigation, we concur that the evidence does not support the filing of any criminal charges in this case,” the statement said.
The good news continues to trickle in for the struggling Sacramento Kings; Ron Artest makes his return to the lineup tonight following a seven-game suspension.
