The Pistons as Team USA?
It was seriously discussed. So, does that mean they would have only won the gold medal once and gotten really close a bunch of times?

1) Don’t they get fairly major contributions from international players? 2) Wouldn’t it effectively kill their chances in the following season? 3) RASHEED WALLACE. Yeah, international refs would love him.

eboy: so sorry you have no one to play with–the rapture you know, just us sinners left. The year the Pistons won the title would have been great to send to Olympics (though I doubt that Ben would have faired as well as he did in the NBA given intl shooting ability). That was truly a team and therefore a joy to watch. I just moved to LA and people here were confident that the Lakers would win–little were they aware of the 4 games where the Pistons kept their opponents below 60 points.
