If convince Jai Lucas to commit to Florida as well, you guys will probably have the no. 1 recruiting class in the nation. I am not going to dog out any of the other schools vying for you, but I will say that I am a long time UVA fan and that I have watched and met a lot of great individuals come out of the University of Virginia athletic program and regular students. The one common denominator is that they were people as a result of attending the #1 public University in the country. Duke reguardless of the Christian Laitner Fiasco has proven on several occasions to be a formidable school. Sorry to piss all you other kentucky fans off. Billy Donavon seemed to do some awesome recruiting by gettting fourfreshmen that though the may or may not have been more talented then Kentuckys previous #1 Recruiting class seemed to play successful team basketball. We had only lost 2 games that year. 34-2 best record byfar in nearly 25 years. So see pat florida doesn’t have nothing on us but a U.K. assistant that coaches them now. Just because i’m from Kentucky doesn’t mean i’m obsessed, it just means I like watching quality college basketball. Our fans want no more OR less than other top flight schools(N.C., Duke, UCLA, Kansas…ect..)College is about having fun while you still can, so do yourself a favor and go where you want and have the most fun you can. You’ve done the work, so far, to deserve it.
Looking forward to watching you play wherever you go, because like I said I enjoy quality basketball!

All I have to say is come to the place where you can play in front of 24,000 fans every night (even against teams like William and Mary), practice in a $30 million dollar facility, and play for one of the hottest coaches/recruiters in the country. Come to a place where you will be a God. That means second to none. Not even to a hot shot QB. Some will say to not go to a place that you’ll be “compared” to guys of the past who have won several championships and countless awards (on both the NCAA and NBA level). But would you expect to be compared to anything less? Come to a place where when they hang your jersey long after you’re gone, you’ll be able to tell your kids your name hangs in the rafters with 7 (but probably more by then) championship banners, a few Runner-Up banners, countless Final Four apperances, and with names like Rupp, Riley, Dampier, Mashburn, Bowie, Issel, Walker…..and by then you can likely add Prince to that as well. Come to a place where you are announced with a “lights-out” intro, fireworks, and a student section that is louder then most in the country (just ask SI on Campus, that’s in black and white). Come to a place that needs you (as if Florida hasn’t already signed 3 4-star or better forwards…so there’s no guarantee you’ll get all the PT you want) and has wanted you (as well as your buddy who WANTS to play with you) from DAY ONE. Come to a place where, with no matter WHO plays here, we haven’t missed a NCAA tournament in over a decade. We don’t do NIT’s around here. Come to a place that embraces their identity as INSANELY passionate, obsessive fans. Who wants to play for fans who could care whether you win or lose…but rather live and die with you in each loss and each win. You bring us home a championship and they’ll have to shut down the state for the celebration. Basketball reigns supreme. Come to a place where you won’t have to look at a 90,000 seat football stadium and wonder “And they can’t even give us something bigger and better then a 15,000 seat arena?”. Come to a place, that no matter what, you’ll be starting WITH your friend Jai…and you have a shot at becoming one of the greatest tandems in college basketball (because you’ll BOTH start, no questions asked). Come to a place where the Coach can say more then “We want you to come here because…”, he literally maps his plans for you in black and white and spares you the lip service. He’ll also build his style around his players, instead of expecting his players to fit a style. Come to a place where Momma Patterson only has to a few hours to see her son play for one of the greatest programs in all of college basketball. Come to a place where the girls don more then a 10 pounds of makeup and a tan. They have brains, beauty, and will cook you some of the best southern cookin’ you’ve ever had. I mean you’ve seen Ashley Judd right? Enough said. And finally, come to a place where when you look back when it’s all said and done you can say you played for the best program in all of college basketball, in the best conference in all of college basketball, and know if you can succeed here you’ll be part of basketball immortality. If you can find that somewhere else then at the University of Kentucky, I wish you all the best. But I’m willing to bet that you’ll be hard pressed to do that. Good luck in the Jordan Classic.

We are, apparently, far more intelligent than many posters and sportswriters that would not know a snake if it bit them in the #$% b/c we know when it is time to separate; as did Coach Smith, obviously. Don’t even try to build a case b/c you will lose this debate also. Coach Smith is a GREAT coach and an even BETTER person. It simply was time for him to coach elsewhere. The Publicity and attention you two will get will be CRAZY! Florida sold 500 tickets for the Elite 8 and had over 200,000 request for tickets for the spring football game. Do you really want to be 2nd priority to the UF fans. You can’t even imagine of loud and crazy Rupp Arena will be this year. The excitement in Kentucky this year is unbelieveable! Coach Billy Clyde in two weeks has put energy in the program. We have a new attitude and the recuiting is much different.Coach said from the first day he got here is all about players and I REALLY believe him.
