Checking in on the SLAMonline NCAA bracket
So you know who to cheer for
The NCAA tourney gets restarted tonight with the Sweet 16, and it’s time to take a look at our standings. Yes, I am in 210th place in the main bracket and Ben Osborne is even further down, but this isn’t about us, it’s about everyone.
Spartdog is in first overall, so if you are trying to take his spot you are cheering for Memphis to beat Texas A&M tonight. Big Nick Da Beast has the advantage of UNLV being in his elite eight. There really isn’t much variation at the top. Memphis winning would change everything, which is kind of strange because Memphis is the 2 seed and Texas A&M is the 3. A&M is one of the trendy sleepers to get to the Final 4, and Memphis is coached by Calipari who plays the disrespect card as well as anyone. Memphis had a much easier game than what A&M had to go through against SOSsssA (in dramatic Gus Johnson flourish voice) and Louisville, but Memphis is on shorter rest. If Memphis were to win, then MS427 would be in phenomenal shape and take over. Then again, the top brackets in our standings all seem to have the triple threat of UCLA, Kansas, and Ohio State avoiding upsets in tonight’s action.
If you are in it to win it without any loyalty, you are probably cheering for one of those three upsets, as well as Memphis over Texas A&M. Just so you know, for your viewing pleasure.
And I’d like to offer my congratulations to the freshly engaged Eli Manning. We’ve had a contentious relationship as complete stranger and superstar QB, but now that time has passed and I’ve cooled down, I wish him well. This would normally be the time for a backhanded complement, but I’ll pass.

Is Eli gonna marry one of those country music singer guys like his brother did?

McRoberts is going to the L. What will Greg Paulus do without him??? Oh, nevermind, do what he always does. Suck and cry.

Whew! Now NBA GMs and players can resume their constant praise of Josh McRoberts.

I don’t know why NBA people are enamored with this kid. He didn’t show me much either of his two years, but “people” say he’ll be a first round pick.

…good riddance. McRoberts’ the main reason Duke sucked this year. He was supposed to step up and carry the load, but he felt more comfortable dishing it off. He shines at throwing down power dunks….but only when there’s no one under the rim. He’s had his eye on the L from the get, and i heard he wasn’t that good a teammate, so i’m wishing him a safe jouney. Here’s to all the scrub minutes you can handle in the NBA Josh…make us proud.

He can follow in the shoes of Shav Randolph… without the homophobia and crippling ankle fractures anyway.

Yea good luck with that Sam. As a Duke fan im kind of happy to see him go. He never produced for us and was a lil crybaby. Especially in the UNC game part I. Now we can dump him on some other poor soul. *Kansas winning it all*

Im riding with either Pitt or UNC. For no other reasons than the facts that Im a Pitt Alumn, Tar Heel fanatic. As long as Duke is gone I am truly in my glory…

look at it this way dahoopstar, with McRoberts gone, it’ll open up more time for Henderson to do his thing. First Dukie I’ve like since GHill. Second coming? hope so…As long as son keep his forearms to himself…I like em, but you dont touch Pyscho T!! Now if yall can only get rid of that undersized three man who cant shoot a lick aka Nelson…

I’m sure Acie Earl IV is upset, and he might be a nice guy, but that missed layup was great. I had less than no confidence in Memphis’s free throw shooting, but somehow they won.

Matthew says:
I thought it was Acie Law IV. Acie Earl balled out at Iowa didn’t he???
Mar.23 at 9:01 am
Sam Rubenstein says:
Apparently I make the Acie mistake a lot. Guess I won’t have to worry about that anymore though. Go Memphis!
