Player of the D.A.Y.

Keeping it simple

By Sam Rubenstein

The glorious Player of the F.I.R.S.T. H.A.L.F. is coming tomorrow, and since I’ve already done way too much with my lack of editing down the first half D.A.Y. post, I’ll keep this one simple. And I’m ignoring the ridiculous numbers piled up in the Memphis-Utah game such as Deron Williams and his 21 assists, Pau’s triple double, and what Chucky did. Toney Barone(y) is making the biggest mockery of numbers this side of Major League Baseball.

The Player of the D.A.Y. is Tracy McGrady. The Spurs might be boring, but they’re still one of the better teams out there. T-Mac hung a 37 and 8 on them.

I turned on that game in time to see a) Shane Battier complete a four-point play, and b) Tracy McGrady score seven points in roughly 35 seconds. He’s good.
