The youtube video of the year

By Sam Rubenstein

It’s the end of the year. Everyone has been putting together their year of reminiscince columns and lists. I’m even working on the 2006 slamonline look back. But if I had to pick one thing that changed the world this year, it would be youtube. I don’t really remember life before youtube. Lazy Sunday might have been the first time I found out about it, and soon enough I was posting my own videos. It’s as user-friendly as possible, and now anyone can put a video on their website. Learning html a few years ago is now as meaningless skill as being able to use a slide rule to do math. Everyone knows what youtube code looks like and what embed means.

So, after viewing hundreds to thousands of youtube clips over the year, I have decided that this is my very favorite one. It just so happens to be the very same overall pick as Straight Bangin’s. Great minds think alike. This has 0% to do with basketball, but is still dear to my heart. If you haven’t seen it yet, prepare to be amazed. It kind of depressed me because I know I will never do anything in my life as great as this.

Destro and The Baroness and their video for Get Money.
