Isiah Thomas Is Smarter Than You
Why do you act surprised?
“I can’t expect them to understand the game the way I understand it or see it the way we see it.” (Isiah Thomas)
He blurted out the above quote after the Knicks’ practice yesterday. It came after yet another nightmarish loss at home two nights ago, a 113-102 spanking at the hands of the Washington Wizards. The Garden fans had started with their “Fire Isiah” chants as it became evident that the Knicks were again about the suffer an all too familiar fate. Thomas then decided it was time to separate the ignorant from the knowledgeable.
Now, this might seem like a dangerous move on Isiah’s part; alienating the vocal and passionate Garden faithful might be seen by some as career suicide. But I don’t see it that way. Not at all. Isiah is simply smarter than everyone, and it’s about time people started realizing and accepting this fact.
Do you think it would take anything less than sheer genius to survive three years under the New York glare with these credentials: no playoff wins; a humiliating playoff sweep at the hands of the Nets; a winning record of under .400 (look it up); comically bad (unprecedented, really) management of financial assets; the hiring and firing of Larry Brown; getting sued by a former colleague for sexual harassment; and the unmatched ability to turn a once-proud franchise into the easiest joke in the land?
I think not.

I guess he’s talking about the players? Well for a streetball squad of Marbury, Francis, Nate and Crawford, I can understand him.

I didn’t believe the back of The Post when I saw his quote. An ad hominem attack at New Yorkers at large. . . ridiculous.
The man has some kind of perverse Midas touch, and he is holding the Knicks back worse than the Allanbatross (Houston).
Still, it’s Dolan who deserves the most blame. He’s the one raising ticket prices to watch the abomination of a team the Knicks have become since he’s been in control. Why can’t he just raise cable bills $1.00 across the board and bring us KG, AI, & the Matrix?

Why is everybody actin like Isaih is the worst mother fuckin GM. I mean he is horrible but Billy King is the worst. After he built a good team that went to the finals in 2001 he bassically traded everyone and brought in players that had no chemistry together, which in the end has led to A.I demandin a trade.

I’ll tell you why. He has a dubious past, I never liked the “Bad Boys,” and he just took a jab at the smartest legion of fans in the world.
They say, “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” but whoever it was that coined the phrase must have got caught cheating on some vicious trick and was not a Knick fan in the post-Spree era.
This is despicable.
NY needs a championship. Mecca needs a new banner.
You might disagree due to some early affiliation with whatever podunk town in which you lived in or around, but it’s a cold hard fact that New Yorkers are better than everyone else (excluding UNC alumna). If you don’t think so, you live in the sticks.
