Vote or DIE
Tragically, no provisions have been made to vote on the ball change or the overzealous officiating. Yet.
I’ve got, like, six billion things to write. Was in Portland and Atlanta over the past two weeks, saw such thrilling matchups as Lakers/Blazers (if only it was 2001) and Hawks/Bucks (if only it was 1987). But when I opened an innocuous-looking NBA News e-mail today, I was inspired to put something up. Immediately.
Yes, that’s right. The NBA All-Star ballot is officially out. And thank God. I mean, it’s the middle of November already! It should be entirely obvious who should be representing the NBA in Las Vegas in, um, three months. Just look at the ballot, so many deserving names!
Like Kenyon Martin, who’s out for the year! Or Boris Diaw, who apparently ate his way through France this offseason! Or Pau Gasol, who’s been perfect this season, having not played in a single game! Or let’s not forget Stephon Marbury, who has already had two games with o-fer’s from the floor and gets booed every time he takes the floor. At home. Or Chris Mihm, who’s also out for the year. What, no ballot love for Darius Miles? Guess I’ll have to write him in.

I will NEVER understand why the NBA can’t wait until after Thanksgiving (at least!) to put out the All-Star ballots, especially when so many votes are cast over the Internet. And, um, from China. Would it really matter if there were fewer total votes? Would that be so bad, if it meant taking some guys off the ballot (either guys who have been injured, or are just playing like crap)? It’s obvious, from the inclusion of guys like Mihm and Speedy Claxton (who also hasn’t played yet) that the ballot is made up before the season even starts. Which is ridiculous. Right?

Hey Russ did you notice how Dan Dickau led the Blazers to the wrong side of the floor for the warmups against the Lakers???Then the Lakers came out and everyone looked around for a bit before Kobe pointed down like “We’re here”. I cant believe yall stopped calling him “Disaster”. BTW FIRST!!!

New event at All Star weekend this year! The injured All Stars versus the the out of shape All Stars. Just think of the matchups. Kenyon posting up Curry. Pau Gasol limping his way to the hole, while Diaw eats a pastry. Instead of running down court to guard his man Boris could just join Screaming A. Smith on the sideline to wash his croissant down with a tasty beverage. Everyone knows you dont play defence in an All Star game anyway.

And youre right, this is pretty stupid. They should cut down these votes and put up ballots for the SDC and the 3 point shootout.
On the other hand, everyone might end up voting for Kobe, Vince, LBJ and Wade for the SDC and that wouldnt really get us anywhere….
whatever, Melo and Dwight better make the teams this year. And Yao might actually deserve like half of those billion votes he’s going to get.

It pisses me off that Yao has been startin at center only because of the huge population of china. Now, everyone from Australia get crackin an start voting for Bogut. haha. Go Australia! Its also annoying hearing about so and so recieving “a record number of all star votes”, with internet voting so accessible and prevelant it really loses any meaning (in a historical context that is). But then again, who cares really, cos im the Mad Rapper of the Day, just jokin, but seriously, where’s my trophy!

Speedy actually has played this yr so he is more than deserving. Seriously though, it is way too early, just like there are people like Diaw who are sucking right now, he has plenty of time to turn it around before Feb. he is a fat ass though. I really see him being a one-hit wonder. Everyone was quick to jump on his bandwagon after last yr but we’ll see. You know the hawks are world renowned for their talent evaluation, they wouldn’t have given him up for JJ and some magic beans if they thought he’d be a future star. Right Lang?

The ballot should be completely write-in, or at least just select from a list of all players in the league by position.
