Santa ‘Bron is back at it … but it didn’t help the Cleveland Cavaliers much in Game 2 of the NBA Finals
The Cavs each got a new set of gold-plated Beats By Dre headphones courtesy of LeBron James, but the luxury gifts did nothing to keep them from getting blown out by 33 points and falling into a virtually insurmountable 2-0 series hole Sunday night.
The Finals are shifting to Ohio, where the Cavaliers can only pray they’ll get their mojo back.
Per USA Today:
With each set, James attached an inspirational message that hammered home just how critical a task loomed at Oracle Arena. […] You’ve worked, you’ve dreamed, you’ve trained for this. Our time is now.
How cool. And so typical for the ultimate leader to make a gesture when his team needed a lift after being drubbed (again) by the Golden State Warriors in Game 1.
You can’t knock James for trying. In his sixth consecutive NBA Finals, the so-called Chosen One knows all about the ebb and flow of these championship series. He also qualifies as an expert in the manner of rebound games.
