The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving as they face the Philadelphia Sixers Monday.
Irving went down with tightness in his back Sunday during a 109-90 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Kyrie fell awkwardly Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
Per the Akron Beacon Journal:
“It was tight in the fourth quarter of the Charlotte game, then I fell on it, which made it 10 times worse,” Irving said. “It’s just painful right now, but we just have to get through it.”
Irving has never dealt with back problems before and said the issue is completely unrelated to the left knee injury he has been battling for weeks.
“It sucks because you have two injuries at one time,” he said. “You try your best to get through it, but sometimes your body is just telling you when to stop. This is the time right now.”
