Two of the NBA’s most promising big men went toe-to-toe in Minnesota last night as the Timberwolves hosted the Philadelphia 76ers. All eyes were on the matchup between Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid with Towns rocking the Nike Hyperdunk 2016 while Embiid wore the adidas Light Em Up 2. Towns wound end up getting the better of this one as he outplayed Embiid in helping leading Minnesota to a decisive 110-86 win.
Towns’ teammate Zach LaVine brought out some heat as he rocked the Nike Air Zoom Kobe 1 FTB. And while that shoe might normally headline the top kicks of the night, LaVine was outshined by Miami’s James Johnson as he wore the same model, but in an even rarer colorway—an original Kobe Bryant PE edition featuring Bryant’s No. 24 embroidered on the side. Out in Houston, adidas’ premier basketball athletes faced off as James Harden and his Harden Vol.1 “Pioneer” went up against Damian Lillard and his adidas D Lillard 2 “Shark Black.” Harden would finish the night with another triple-double as Houston defeated Portland 126-109.
