Was it the socks? Wearing special Kobe Bryant tribute socks by Stance, the Lakers pulled off a stunning 112-95 upset of the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers were led by rookie D’Angelo Russell, who scored 21 points in the Nike Kobe X Elite Low. In the loss, Stephen Curry debuted his new Under Armour model, the Curry 2.5. In Milwaukee,Giannis Antetokounmpo also wore the Nike Kobe X Elite Low in pulling off a triple-double, but fell short in the Bucks’ attempt to beat the visiting Thunder. For the Thunder, Russell Westbrook wore a new PE colorway of the Air Jordan XXX and Kevin Durant flourished in his Nike KD8.
The evening also saw several more notable models, as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope rocked a “Yeezy” colorway of the Nike Foamposite Pro, JaMychal Green brought out the Air Jordan XI IE Retro once again, and Kenneth Faried had a monster 20/20 outing in a Nuggets colorway of the adidas Light Em Up 2.
